That's your choice. 50% chance to avoid a break.

And yes, it does. Not worth the locked channel, though. No damage increase and I think it is like... 7-10 extra wounds per a hit.

That's the only real issue I have with psymet - a lot of the abilities are interesting and *nearly* useful enough to warrant locking a channel, but the plain old utilitarian boring ones like psiarmour and regeneration prove more useful in a wider range of situations. Like the... is it mindbarrier? The one that prevents people from scrying you. That's useful up to a point, but only in very specific situations (although I think it would go hand in hand with some of the Stealth abilities, now that I come to think of it...). I guess it makes sense, otherwise psymet would be totally OP (as opposed to just a bit OP), but it bugs me having abilities that I never use. I could say the same thing about the Kata grapples, though.

I have a similar question as to the original question posed, so I'll derail this thread again wink.gif
I'm a lvl 77 human Tahtetso. I have 565 lessons right now (from forgetting Starhymn and not investing it in Tahtetso), and can obtain another 85 through the city credit sale. I'm 73% Expert in Planar, which means...about 552 lessons in. If I put all of the lessons in Planar, I'll be just short of Mythical. Should I do that and try to aim for conglutination? Go into psionics/psymet? (currently inept) Tahtetso? I'm not that interested/competent in PvP (I use Nexus, etc.) and am more focused on PvE. I only have access to IC credits, which is another issue to consider, I guess.

Yea, I know Kephera Tahtetso should be bashing. Influencing was a good break for me though. And plus, I think I'm going to reincarnate to human soon for the exp bonus.

I usually lock psiarmor, bloodboil, regen. Klaermon, I would invest some in Tahtetso for sure, at least until you get the basic bashing skills. Psymet would be a good investment up til you get one of the nice bashing locked skills mentioned in this thread. Then maybe planar (or harmony until you get the nice bashing skills there)

Hm. I'm just at master...is there anything more further up in Tahtetso for bashing?

I know that there's the Autoraze maneuver. What was it called again. Tahtai? You'll find it on the scrying pool at least. And I think Gripping is somewhere there as well. Those two are good.
Casilu2009-06-21 23:27:23
I'm sure swiftstrike works for bashing too.
Zalandrus2009-06-23 00:48:37
Yep, swiftstrike and tahtai are both good. Gripping...maybe, if you're getting your arms broken a lot, I think

I was wondering, when speaking about Psychometabolsim, would it be a better idea to transcend it then begin to really work on your specialized kata skill, or to just reach bloodboil then come back to it later? You wouldn't gain any monumental bonuses in the last 300 or so lessons it would take to transcend it, would you?
