Thank you, woman who lives ACROSS THE STREET, for reporting my grandmother's BACKYARD
Thank you, woman who lives ACROSS THE STREET, for considering my grandmother's HEART PROBLEMS, LUNG PROBLEMS, and UNEMPLOYMENT status.
Thank you, woman who lives ACROSS THE STREET, for making the city threaten to charge us FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS for it looking bad.
And thank you, Texas, for making it 99 degrees right now.
that fits here, right?
edit: and when I say ACROSS THE STREET, I mean other side of the road and about five houses down.

Does she fancy herself president of an invisible HOA?
Thendis2010-08-01 21:55:40
There isn't an HOA. And apparently she is doing psychiatrist stuff out of her house, which is illegal, but no one has reported her yet. and that worries me a little.
But not enough to stop be from revenge reporting

Hence invisible HOA. Like an invisible bicycle or an air guitar.
Anyhow, two wrongs don't make a right but I really can't stand people who report others about leaves or "ugly backyards" or whatnot.

In Leawood, KS, it was a commonly heard 'joke' that the police carried around rulers so as to measure how tall your grass was. If it was too tall, they'd write a citation.
Which may or may not have been literal truth, but there are people who are that (b)anal. I drove through the city every day for years going to and from work, and I could believe it.

The area where I lived technically had a law about how wide the holes in your window screens could be. Of course, it was never ever enforced-- except when there had been other gross violations and the owner was a real jerk about it-- then they'd actually go and measure the holes in the screen as well just to slap another citation on the guy.

That's unfair. I live in Leawood, and cops have only measured my lawn, like, six times at most.
Actually, our height limit is on fences (4 feet), but I have no doubt that if I let my lawn go too nuts, I'd be hearing about it.

Really wish I could some how figure out how to connect my xbox to my dad's network. I'm damn tired of relying on Linksys to be stable or up.
*mutter* Done everything we can think of to get this thing to work but it just ain't working.

It was a record high of 107 today with a heat index of 115. Right now, at 11pm, it's 92 with a heat index of 100. My AC is blasting away and barely making a dent, cause it's just a window unit. Tomorrow it's gonna be 103, according to the forecast, with a heat index of 110. I just hope my poor AC doesn't decide to give up!

When I was up in Rhode Island visiting my family earlier in the year, I made an attempt in the last few days to visit the people who were the landlords of the first place I lived in that was away from my grandparents as a child for 4-5 years.
I didn't end up seeing them, in the end. I was too scared they wouldn't remember me, or that they had moved, or that I'd look like an idiot showing up to go up into the three-apartment building and see them. I waited out on their porch for a little while, and when there was no sign of anyone, I left. It turns out they had actually been looking forward to seeing me for a long time after I moved to North Carolina.
And I found out this morning that the wife passed away this past weekend.
Oh, regret. I hate you.

It was raining earlier, so perfect to get a few hours of bashing in. Having been at it for a while, I noticed the weather changed to sunshine and the prediction for the rest of the afternoon is good. I log off, go outside, and just as I came back in a realization hit me ... I didn't offer the corpses I had in my inventory /headdesk. Believe I logged out in the Nihilist guildhall so I hope someone found them and offered them instead of me

I disassembled my clicky ballpoint pen, was pleased to see that it doesn't work like the last clicky ballpoint pen I disassembled, but was very displeased when I couldn't figure out how it works, even after taking it apart and putting it together several times.

If I ever figure out how to make the stupid windows updater stop sneaking up behind my windows and then smarmily turning off my PC in the middle of something important, I will dance with joy.

Every time I think I'll have a few hours to dedicate to the various small projects I have pending in Lusternia, I get sidetracked or roped into a real life project. The loose ends are starting to bug me. Harumph.
