Stepped on a power adapters prongs last night bare footed. I now have two jagged holes in my foot. And I had to work an 8 hour shift, so I was standing on my feet all day. Get home, peel off shoes and socks, erg, ok, swelling a lot and red. This can not be good
Razenth2010-09-27 04:50:28
Nope, time to put some alcohol and gauze and bandages on that foot. Or go to the hospital. The second is probably better for your health. Your foot might get infected and gangrenous and you might lose it.

90% isopropyl cures/cleans anything.

Stop by a pharmacy and pick up so isopropyl like Thendis said.
PS: Also try to bandage it or at least put something between it and your socks. Unfortunately, your shoes are havens for bacteria so you need to do everything you can to seperate the injury from the shoe.

Why can't I just be happy at all anymore?
I feel for ya. I'm basically the same as it stands.

Keep it dry when you aren't medicating it.

What they said. Puncture wounds in your feet are not something to take take lightly. Getting an infection and losing your foot is an extreme, but not particularly rare, possible outcome.

Swelling is down, almost completely gone. Called mum up about possibly getting her to pay for a tetanus shot (we figured that while I likely got a tetanus shot when I was in high school, that does mean I'm nearing the end of the ten years for that ). Howeverrrr, we might be able to get a free tetanus shop from the county. Which'll be good, since I don't want to get mum to pay 150.
Shaddus2010-09-27 19:50:41
Not sure if you have places like this around you, but a while back I used to donate plasma twice a week to help pay bills. They actually paid me 25$ to give me a tetanus shot, since it made my plasma that much better.
Razenth2010-09-27 22:15:02
Yay, sounds like your foot is getting better! Remember, if you get red streaks it's time to go to the ER, insurance or not!

Out frustration, I hit the reset on my Mac was spinning the pinwheel. Only after did I consider that the computer might have been in the middle of a software update. Second reset brought me to a grey screen. Third reset instant shutdown. Had to reformat my drive. Didn't loose anything too vital thanks to a combo of cloud computing and an external hard drive. Though... I did loose two years worth of aliases and triggers. Thankfully I have healing/curing through M&M... the rest I have to rewrite from scratch. Lost out on a strong disfavour and XP weekend though.

For red blood donations. The matching system reverses for plasma donations.
(Still, plasma donation centers pay, and the Red Cross doesn't, and it's not like the Red Cross has ever turned away an AB donor, so whatever.)
Lendren2010-09-28 22:26:19
No, but I always imagine that once I leave the room they throw my blood away. (I've given 44 pints so far, and I'm AB+, and they still call me every chance they get asking for more, but not as much as they used to call the O- friend I had.)
