I play League and honestly there is no grind to me. The runes aren't necessary, and the champion purchases are really just questionable. If you really like a champion, winning a couple games to grab it ain't hard. You also get to use the 10 hero rotation every week and could just buy runes with your IP.

Or you can circumvent the grind for champions and pay some cash. You support the developer by doing so. I've dropped only enough on the game to actual have paid for any PC or console game at a local gameshop (about 30 to 50 bucks?) and I am MORE than satisfied with the investment. Moreover, I've remembered times I've dropped 6 times that on an IRE game as an initial investment for combat entry.

I'm tired of losing belief in humanity by repeatedly watching people act like idiots and continue to hurt people who are already hurting. Especially when those being attacked are trying to forget stupid things that are over and done with.

Also very glad I have good friends. Friends worth defending when the world decides to on them.

I'm so conflicted by this.

Long story short: I am disgusted by people choosing to pick on a girl who just narrowly avoided killing herself, when not even a week has gone by.

Going up to someone and saying they did it for attention does not help. Treating them like a freak does not help either. Nor does spreading rumors about what happened.

I dunno man. Just depresses the hell out of me. And from that I can only imagine the crap my friend is going through.

Sylandra: While I am sometimes a fan of public humiliation as a means of punishment ONLY when it's (very well) deserved, deliberately mocking someone in need of help (or is simply experiencing human nature, ie irrational fear due to phobia) is the lowest of the low. I'd suggest punching the perps in the groin/ovaries/etc but you probably want to keep your criminal record spotless.

Rodngar: F2P on its own isn't bad - good, if anything - but the way most F2P games go, especially in regards to grind, tend to dilute the enjoyable skill-based aspects of the game. At least, if you're in it for the competitive aspect. Be it WoW gear, the WoW aspect that LoL has, or Funcom buying out a game and promptly destroying it. I've heard that LoL adds a new hero every 2-3 weeks, which has to be a bitch to even hope for balancing.

It was in the past, for sure, a bitch to balance. However, they've been pretty spot on with balance the past few heroes. LeBlanc was a little underpowered when they shipped her (to the point where people were astonished and some did not buy her), but a hotfix two days later brought her up to snuff. They've been conservative with a lot of it. The game plays competitively and has a deep root in the skill that all MOBA games do - you know, besides the lack of denies. The game is a lot more about map control(both lane control, and jungle control) and ganks - as the way to prevent somebody from hitting late game is different than in HoN or DoTA.


People who insinuate that suicidal people do it for attention disgust me. Only people who threaten to do it and never go through with it are the ones who could possibly be doing it for attention - and gathering from other posts..

You need to get them depressed. Then, slowly work it into their mind that they should kill themselves. Make sure they attempt it but the attempt fails and then you do to them what they did to the other person. Much more just. (And crazy.)

We've had three different types of weather today.

I'm sick and the people at the job who said they'd call me this week never called me. Hrrnurrrr...I slept for about 14 hours today. I didn't wanna wake up but food was made and I wanted it, so I had to. I want to go back to sleep.

Time for more school complaining!

The class I thought was offered 5 minutes away from me is actually offered 35-40 minutes away. Which isn't that bad, except that its a 5:30 class, which means I'd be on the beltway during rush hour, making the trip easily over an hour on a good day. No thx. Its a required class though, and it doesn't come around again for another year, and I just have to hope its at a better time and/or place. Also, looking at the projected class schedule, I can tell that fall 2011 is going to be a dreadfully boring semester for me. Not that they all aren't, but I prefer boring classes on stuff I'm interested in to boring classes on software creation processes, diagramming and managing. Ugh, why do I subject myself to this? Only a year and a half to go after this semester...

Saaaaaad.

My Senior Exit Presentation is tomorrow. I am nervous.

Just got a call from my dad... my grandfather died an hour and a bit ago. We knew it was coming as he had been slowly slipping away, being in a home for the last 10 years and suffering from memory lapses and health issues. Still a shock when the news came though.

Winter depression.
