I thought doing the Bloody Mary mirror thing was bad. O.O Who would honestly _WANT_ to play the Midnight Game?!
Doesn't sound any worse than hiking down back forest roads in the dark on a moonless night, which is relaxing.
Ileein2011-01-12 03:10:25
My imagination is too hyperactive to ever do such a thing. I can go hiking at night on a night with a full or otherwise bright moon in a suburban or residential area; as long as there are houses on all sides, I'm fine. When I start walking past unbroken woods, my mind starts throwing freak-out parties, which is a problem because I live in a subdivision in a relatively rural area. Where there aren't houses, there's unbroken woods.
I also can't walk around my house at night without lights on while I'm the only one home, especially if I've recently watched anything even faintly creepy (Ghost Adventures will do it every time). Marble Hornets? Don't even think about it.

It really freaks out whoever you're with if you start chanting "We All Come From the Goddess". Granted, it does at work too, after someone dies, so maybe it's not just the woods thing.
Ileein2011-01-12 04:45:55
You know, watching Marble Hornets at 9:30 at night was a decidedly bad idea. I do not suggest it.

Keep me up at night, thinking that the hallway is filled to the brim with things that want to eat me. I can't walk into a dark room without turning on basically all the lights in the house. :\\ If I do try and be couragous and walk into a dark room without first flooding the house with lights, I usually end up bolting out of the room because I got that weird feeling that something was gonna jump me. Of course, I then look around making sure no one saw my foolish dash out of the room. >.<
However, I am starting to learn that this effect also transitions into the day, since its just me and my dad (plus the cats). This is why I do my best to not watch scary movies. For the most part I succeed. When I do succumb to watching a scary movie it comes back to haunt me.

You too? Man that sucks, I can't even go for a walk some days because when I'm alone the hair on the back of my neck will stand up, and next thing you know I'm sprinting home.
It's been getting worse too. I can barely go outside to my bus stop in the morning without panicking.
It's half the reason I've been putting so much effort into learning how to defend myself, and yet I'm -still- terrified of being alone.

When I was alone at home for the first time as a kid, I totally freaked when I heard this noise, and readied myself with a frying pan. Nearly had a heart-attack when it was my dad coming home early.
Now I like being home alone. Peaceful. (May or may not be due to having a huge family)
Walking alone can be really nice, too. Or biking. It's just you and your thoughts.

There are days when being home alone are fine for me, but then there are days when I start thinking about the Ring or the Grudge (both movies happen to scare me >.<) and my head's like "Yup, she's coming for you. So don't go down staris...or if you do, RUN REALLY FAST DOWN THE STAIRS, GRAB A DRINK AND BOLT BACK UP!" For the most part though I do not like being a lone, I need someone with me to basically go anywhere crowded really. I always enjoyed (well...not always. Summer made it suck!) the walk to my house in Las Vegas from school. It was me, my thoughts and my mp3 player. But for the most part being alone = never doing it if I can help it. fml.

The image from the Ring of the guy with sheet over his head just pointing scared the out of me for ages. (Ringu, that is, the Japanese original)
Sylandra2011-01-12 08:48:28
Note to self: do not watch those movies.
Llesvelt2011-01-12 09:16:23
I am scared all the time, I can't for the life of me walk around alone in the dark.
I am afraid of being afraid, too. Psychological horror is the worst for me.

Hoping this pain in the back of my jaw is nothing, I've had this before, I just don't know how I would deal with wisdom teeth at the moment, my family gets them in the mid-twenties.

I completely forgot that my apartment managing company was turning off the hot water this morning to do maintenance. 8:00 am ice water is not fun. When will I get hot water back? 5:00 pm. I am not amused.

My exact same thought.
Although, I extend that to anything remotely classified under 'horror'.

Yeahno. I hate the dark enough already, I don't need to intentionally invoke a phobia

Dear Lusternia. Stop giving me plot-bunnies, I need original fiction ideas.
Diamondais2011-01-14 22:31:43
I think my flat has broken the previous held record of fire alarms this week. There have been more fire alarms this week than there are days in a week.

Its cold. The heater is only set to 72 and it is still cold. I woke up to my two lower front teeth hurting. :\\ I do not like the cold and I do not like waking up to my teeth hurting.

My heat is set to 64... but now I'm holed up in my room with a space heater and blanket, because I feel crappy today and just want to bask. Usually though 64 is fine if I'm on the couch with a blanket. Heat is expensive .
