I'm very close to killing someone, or several someones, depending on what happens over the next two days.

Yeah, and I love my tuna lukewarm and in a sweaty plastic container, on a bed of wilted lettuce and refrigerated tomatoes. >.>

They couldn't come up with anything more appetizing than "Scoop of Tuna" ???
I guess I was lucky that my college always tended to have tasty, fresh, and often well prepared offerings. Except for those "bat wings" they served on Halloween that one year. Turned out to be raw-in-the-middle chicken tenders.
EDIT: I think I would still choose bat wings over Scoop of Tuna.

I've actually eaten one of our lunches before. Chicken Salad on Kaiser Roll. The bread was practically soaked in condensation and tomato-water, and the whole thing pretty much tasted like pepper on nothing. It cost 3.89.

Sounds like you paid about what it was worth, then...

MY BROTHER IS EATING ALL MY SRIRACHA
It was safe before because he wouldn't try it, but we got a new bottle and he decided to test it, and now he's digging through the pantry and specifically making things just to try them with sriracha.
EDIT: He made tomato soup and is taking a spoonful of it, putting sriracha in the spoonful, then eating it. For the whole bowl of soup.

Both of mine have AWESOME cafeterias. I feel so lucky now.
Given, I worked in one for 1 and a half years, but still...

My current university does fresh food for the most part, they do the occasional box sandwich (why is there butter on a tuna sandwich? mayo is enough..). Know how you feel, my university back home does food like that, I really only buy from the counter though, don't bother with the premade sandwiches at home (the salami subs are occasionally okay but everything else is pretty meh).

The college I went to had a full cafeteria. It had three different food stations - one for vegen meals, one for 'fast food' type meals, and one for regular meals. It also had a fairly extensive salad bar (which served as a breakfast bar in the mornings). You could either pay for a meal plan at the beginning of the semester (and then eat as often as you wanted in the cafeteria when it was open) or you could pay for individual meals, individually, as needed.
There was no 'scoop of tuna.'

I was at a branch of Itsu yesterday and tried it because of you. I liked it!
My workplace canteen is... well the sponge puddings taste like talc and the burger I had earlier would have made Shrek sad.
"Donkey? Hey, where are you Donkey? Stop playing around and hiding! Hmm, is that a burger you're eating, Fiona?"

My university had a main dining area with: a grill that always served grossly overcooked food, a mongolian grill station, and a "main" area that did any sort of meal you can think of. I would categorize the food as "meh". It was enough to get you by, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We also had a "Cru Club" which resembles what I have found on large college campuses, kind of like a mix between a fast food place and a diner. The food there was a little better if you got the right things, but they also had the "crap in a plastic box" special. The food company that had the contract didn't really care about the overall quality of their service unless it was a big event that someone was paying a pretty heft cost for.
My current institution, because it is so small, actually has two "Porters" who prepare lunch every day. It's usually a few types of sandwiches, a soup, and an entree of some sort plus a small salad bar, drinks, and deserts. The variety is far less than what I had at the university, but the quality is so much better in that "simple is sometimes better" sort of way. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the outside contract company ever was. I can get a handmade sandwich, large salad, pop and chips for just barely over $4, and I've never been disappointed with it.
