Dude, I so do not remember which color corresponds to which character in Reservoir Dogs.
Besides, I prefer Reservoir Elves.

Mr. Pink didn't tip and made the huge deal about the assigned name.

That's the one Tarantino plays, then?
But I do tip, stop being silly.

It was Steve Buscemi.

I always want to tip the waiter, even when its a country where you generally do not tip.
They always return my money, as if I paid too much, ITS A TIP GOD DAMN IT, TAKE IT.

I know in Germany the reason why they don't accept tips is because they add it into your bill. That's one more awesome thing about Germany, they let you know -exactly- what you're paying.

Being former food service myself, I reguarly tip 24-35%. People with me look at me funny, but I know the nine types of hell customers put service employees through, and I want to be sure that I show them that they are appreciated.

So what, servers just get paid on commission there?

They put a 20% tip in the final bill rather than have the option of a tip. The 20% is for France anyways, so I assume Germany is similar in percentage. In France, they don't tell you if you don't already know, though.

That would explain why the Europeans don't tip when they're here in the States. I have friends that work as waiters, and they're always complaining about Europeans not tipping. We live in a highly trafficked tourist town, and Europeans make up at least 50% of their customer base. I will never work in an industry where your wages depend on the generosity of the customer, having worked in customer service positions and knowing the general attitude of most customers.

Somebody is like, "Hey you need to get on skype tonight so we can video chat." and I'm like "Okay." and then I actually tidy up my room a bit so I don't look like a total bum, and then said person never gets onto Skype. Although I found like $2 in change while cleaning, so not all bad.

Which is why I absolutely oppose the ridiculous changes to minimum wage where it's okay to pay servers $3.50/hr because "they make up the rest in tips".

Yeah, I got out of the habit of tipping while I lived in England. So I always feel bad when I'm out and I haven't tipped, but my friends do.
I usually just sneak up later and drop it off in the bucket later.

I'm English, and I always tip 15%. But I'm regarded as highly irresponsible with my money.

Yes, this is what Germany does as well. Personally I rather prefer how Europe does a lot of things, simply because well it just seems like most times they're not out to rip you off. If I go buy something that is priced at 10$, I know I'm paying 10$, not 12.39$. They just seem to have a helluva smoother and simpler way of going about things. America just likes things complicated for no reason.

It's all about marketing. If I tell someone something is going to cost $12, and that's including the tax, they may think, "Hmm, that's not really worth my $12." But, if I tell them the price without tax, $10.50, they'll think, "Oh, $10.50 is reasonable," even though they KNOW that when tax is applied, it will cost them $12. It's the same reason why nothing is every sold for $3 but is instead sold for $2.99. The number looks less. Remember, America is obsessed with, above everything else (including ethics, privacy, and freedom), profit. Any little bit to help that profit is deemed necesssary, no matter how complicated.
