Bleh. Bleh! I am very dissatisfied.

My mother gave up smoking and drinking a few months back, she was a terrible smoker and had turned into an alcoholic over the past few years. Usually when she gives up and then goes back (takes about a week) something's happened that's made her depressed or she's found something to use as an excuse, we were never really sure which it was.

This time I thought it was different, she'd decided to be really self conscious about everything she ate, was making an effort to get healthy (She's also obese and has a bunch of heart problems), it was brought on after the whole cancer scare thing and it seemed to be sticking.

So of course you all know where I'm going. She just staggered in drunk and is smoking again. I asked her if something had happened, if she was upset at anything, but no. Nothing went wrong, she just decided to go back to it all anyway.

Well that's depressing.

I'm sorry. It's always sad when you see them go back to this horrible state. I've gone through the same thing with my dad and his drinking. It eventually got to the point where he was suicidal and tried to kill himself by running his truck into a telephone pole. It didn't work (fortunately), but it was kinda a wake up call for him and he started getting counseling and quit drinking (again). It's been about 6 months now, though, so hopefully this time it sticks. Don't give up hope!

I make this post at 3:40 AM, because despite being tired, I cannot sleep, for my body decided (in the week of my Vicoprophen regimen) that going to sleep is too much of a bother and that it wants some external source to knock me out.

Bother.

Had to get a new alternator for my car. Wish I didn't buy a few things before that.

A dream I had last night makes me concerned about what my subconscious is doing when I'm not looking.

I dreamt that I was in a park, when suddenly a man looking something like Snidely Whiplash leaps out from behind a tree and throws a bottle at me. Angered, I chase him to what I believe to be an abandoned factory, chasing him across catwalks and between huge concrete cats until he retreats into the basement. Following him, I enter the smallish basement, where there appreas to be a jail cell. The man leaps into the cell, shuts and locks the door, then begins laughing. Suddenly, I notice that there are dozens of cats in the basement, staring not at me, but at the man in the cell. I curse at the man and ask him who the hell he is. He continues to laugh, then a large orange cat turns to me, looks me in the eye, and says, "That's Eric Clapton. I love him.". I proceed to wake up, very perplexed.

I wish wanting to get better at something was enough to motivate me to actually do the work that getting better requires.

And so it comes to be, a Soulless God has been freed and Lusternia
teeters on the edge of destruction. The Great War between the Ice Angels
and the Forsaken has ended.

And the wrong side lost.

This actually made me quite sad.

My parents' house is getting boring now......they're usually busy, and on New Years Eve, our HDTV, our projector, AND our blu-ray player all bit the dust.......so I have very little to do around here.......especially since we're in a small town and most of my friends don't live here.....

Night users with Drink on and chugging Allheale = unkillable for a Bard.

:explode:
Naia2012-01-07 07:49:02
Well good thing you don't need to fight Night users when it actually matters <3
Chade2012-01-07 14:11:34

I'm really worried about one of my friends. Something happened that she won't talk about that made her scared enough to leave town for a week. :(

Starting over with nothing but a journal - empty rift, no instrument, no vials, no clothing, no anything. Kicking rats is annoying even at level 75.

On the upside, I remembered my character name here! :)

What is your character? :P

Bard, but I have an instrument and a couple of vials now, thanks to a nice fella in the same guild. Believe me, that makes things soooo much easier.

Actually, I wanted a name. I was going to offer to help you out, but it sounds like you don't need it now.

I got a second collection of H.P. Lovecraft stories recently and I have been reading them at night and I have been fine, but tonight I read "The Thing on the Doorstep" in bed by the light from my bedside lamp and when I finished the story and put the light off... I turned it back on quite soon and came back to my study and set the lights to full beam.

Could someone check downstairs for reanimated rotting corpses and unspeakable demonic horrors, please? :(
Razenth2012-01-13 02:09:19
But the reanimated rotting corpses are the good guys!

Yeah, you should be vetting the personalities of your close friends, in case they've been supplanted by necromancers. You're not paranoid enough, here.
