Dissatisfaction: it's my birthday as of 3 hrs and 10 mins ago :(
And this is bad how? Don't you like knowing you are a bit older?
Near2012-03-06 20:30:47
It's better than the contrary, at least. That's how I have to look at it! :D

Getting older is better than getting younger? Not all would agree with you...
Near2012-03-06 22:41:01
Getting older is better than not getting older, i.e. being dead. :P

Or being immooooooooortal. I like this option best. My friend is the most amazing artist, you should see the painting he made of me.

Does it absorb your imperfections, leaving you untouched, yet gradually inspiring a self-destructive impulse to follow suit and prove that eldritch painting right?

Be careful now. Immortality isn't all it's cracked up to be.

You are placed 1st in the ongoing weekly contest
This feels so incredibly weird to me. I never do very well at all competing at anything here. I feel like I would have actually had a chance at this, and the novelty of actually winning something here would have been amazing.
But a three-day trip I now have to take tomorrow makes this a pipe dream. :(

Friend at work is leaving after 7 years... which has made me quite sad. It has also unsettled me and made me start looking around for other jobs. I'll have been there 14 years this summer. I mean, I should think about leaving sometime, right?

Shouldn't leave just for the sake of leaving, no. Comes down to a few questions. Are you happy doing what you're doing now? Are you sure you'd be happy elsewhere? How will it effect long term goals, pension/change in current wage, change in location, change in working hours and whatnot.

Someone making a mistake when giving me directions and then acting like it was my fault that I misunderstood. Eh?
ALSO! My roommate is having company when I just wanted to have a relaxing weekend being introverted with a bit of reading and Lusternia. D:

Okay. So ME3? Great game.
But the ending? Endings? Stupidest writing I've ever had the displeasure of watching.
End rant.

The Destroy/Control endings? I guess that works. I can figure that one out. But Synthesis? Who's idea what that? That makes no sense. You're going to fuse machines with organics and make a "new DNA"? What is that supposed to mean, huh? How exactly are you differentiating synthetic and organic life? Are you going to fabricate something, put carbon in it, and call it a day? Plus we've already established in the series that there are at two different DNA structures in the galaxy, so your "new DNA" isn't going to mean anything. And what's up with the "created hate the creators" schtick? Didn't I JUST SOLVE A WAR BETWEEN SOME CREATED AND SOME CREATORS?!. Kish mein touchess. Terrible. The fact that the writing was fine for the vast majority of the game and then it goes belly up in the last five minutes just shows me that someone made a 180 at the last second and didn't think things through.
End rant.

ME3 spoilers/discussion:
It very much feels like this ending and explanation of the Catalyst/Reapers and so forth was shoehorned in at some point very near the end of development. The different endings don't even have different cutscenes beyond the colour of the energy coming from the Crucitadel (and a couple Reapers falling over in the Destroy branch); it just feels horribly rushed. I can't remember where exactly, but I'm pretty sure I remember something being mentioned about dark matter or energy or whatever being related to the Catalyst at some point, making it seem like it'd all somehow tie back in to the stuff with Haestrom from Tali's recruitment mission in ME2 and genuinely lead to some real endings based on choices made through the trilogy and so forth. Unfortunately, this was either a red herring or something ended up getting completely switched out towards the end for some reason with seemingly great haste and references in the script were missed.
When I first finished I was very undecided about how I felt about the ending, but thinking about it more over the past day I've really come to feel disappointed. The rest of the game was fabulous, but the ending was definitely a complete letdown; I almost want to replay with as few assets as possible to see if there's a decent ending that involves the Reapers destroying the fleets and whatnot before Shepard even reaches Earth, so I can pretend that's how it all ended.

My dissatisfaction is that sometimes my former MUD addiction rears its ugly head, and my visits to the forums have increased to a rate of twice per month. Sounds like trouble ahead :P

I've been working on the same damn painting all day and it never looks done. I spent my whole day trying to make colors be a thing I can use to my advantage as opposed to THE ENEMY and all I've gotten for it has been a really crappy-looking homework assignment. Scream.

Phoebus, that is awesome! It can represent the inner angst that guides us mysteriously towards the seemingly poor choices that turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to us..

I can't tell if she means that the love they share is the kind about which love songs are written, or if she is just fond of him in the same way that I am fond of "Such Great Heights." Either way, I keep hittin' re-pea-pea-pea-pea-peat, and I can't stop myself.

But then I remember and ask why I'm even trying to fight solo when we seem more built for groups. >_>

I always feel that Lusternian combat is more based around small groups in general. Most strategies for 1v1 either involve being overpowered in some way, or trying to trick your opponent's system. Only a small number of classes have a real setup -> kill method in 1v1 (Geos for example).
