One of these days I'm going to delete my Facebook. I've slowly been purging everything from it and using it only for logins to stuff that requires it.

I'm holding out. I may be the last survivor. Everybody else I know is on timeline now.

They're eventually going to force us. A lot of people have done it just to get it over with.

This moring I was cleaning beer cans and cigarette butts off of my garage roof from all the people from my brother's party last night. And tonight after work I have to vacuum EVERYTHING and try to get the smell of puke out of the couch.

Exhausted, stressed, and still facing a mountain of work. I wish there was a way I could draw while napping, because I either stay awake forever to get this done, or sleep for an hour or two and seriously risk not being able to complete my work in time. Augh! Why am I constantly running things down to the wire? I know from experience that it sucks, but still I get myself into this sort of situation, every time! When is FINISH YOUR WORK EARLIER finally going to sink in??

If you find out, let me know, please.

Woken up by violent-sounding construction and jackhammers breaking up concrete right outside my room (on the first floor) at 8 in the morning.

Worst awakening I've had yet. =__=

Oh man, for the past few weeks my neighbours but one have been building a fence in the most agonizingly noisy way possible, every single morning before they head off to work. Not quite as loud as jackhammers, but constantly there every morning, so know how you must be feeling :(
Ssaliss2012-05-08 14:10:35
My neighbor has been turning his apartment into swiss cheese for the last couple of years now. At any time, between 06.00 and 22.00, weekday and weekend, a half-hour powerdrilling session might start :(

Urgh, I know that sound. My neighbors decided to get the sidewalk in front of their house redone a couple years ago, and this is a line of really little packed-together townhouses, which means their front sidewalk is practically in my front yard. Two weeks of sidewalk destruction. Why did it take two weeks? And why do the jackhammer-ers start working so early in the morning? These mysteries haunted me that summer. There is nothing pleasant about waking up to jackhammer sounds.

It's FAFSA time again. It seems like just last week I was being audited. Time to go buy some KY and bend over.

Been fixing another roommate's laptop today. It's a $250 Acer that is running slow. He just bought it last semester. It's bad enough that he only has a 1.5 Ghz Celeron and only 2 GB of RAM, but he also
A) Uses Internet Explorer
B) Uses McAfee

So I installed Chrome and completely got rid of IE. Installed Microsoft Security Essentials and Spybot S&D. I've got MSE set to run every sunday morning, as well as Disk Defragmenter. Told him to lose the McAfee.

Those are going to be your two new issues.

Firefox, on a low end computer, is far superior due to the way in which Chrome is handed and the way in which Firefox is handled, process-wise.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a nonessential piece of junk. Go for Avast! or AVG. Either will work fine for the computer, though if it's two core or more you'll want AVG as opposed to Avast!

I've only gotten a bluescreen on my computer once, and it was due to Chrome (and Chrome had been bugging on me a bit earlier too). Since then I switched to Firefox, and I've had no problems at all, so I'm firmly in the Firefox camp.

I'm not a computers person but personally I like Opera.

No offense or anything, but you're wrong about pretty much everything in this post. :P

Firefox is more of a memory hog right now than pretty much every other browser. Try leaving it open for an entire day, by the end of the day your computer will be almost unusable. Chrome is amazing.

If Chrome caused your computer to blue screen, more than likely that was your computers fault.

Also, AVG is more like a virus an an anti-virus these days. It's resource intensive and almost impossible to remove from your system. I replaced AVG with microsoft security essentials on my parents computer over Christmas and I spent about 45 minutes trying to get rid of AVG. It's like a parasite.

MSE is super lightweight and works really well. For maximum security I recommend it alongside malware bytes.

Opera is OK, but where the user percentage is so low most web site designers do not test on it, so you're more likely to run into issues then you are with the other big 3 browsers.
Ssaliss2012-05-09 16:06:38
Never had any problems with anything but Chrome. Seems odd that it'll be a computer-problem when it only affects a single program, no?

I know, that's really one of the only complaints I have about it. :( I use Firefox a lot, more out of habit than anything, but I'm honestly not crazy about it. I don't know why I really like Opera, but I tend to be happiest using it, and if more sites acknowledged its existence I'd probably use it 100% of the time as opposed to 50%.

I haven't had a problem with Chrome for years. It was a little buggy when it first came out, but it works great now. I'm using Firefox right now for kicks and giggles though. I don't like how much memory it uses. I chose Chrome for my roommate's computer because he only has 2 GB of RAM, where I have 4.

MSE is great. It's a huge improvement over Defender. AVG and McAfee are resource hogs. They're worse than actually having a virus.
