I'm kind of in the same situation as Lehki. I need a place to live, and the dorms aren't an option for this summer (contract only extends to july 3rd, classes go until the 20th), so I've been scrambling for a job...without any luck.
No job = no money = no apartment.

Live with Lehki! God, I'm such an awesome problem solver.

tongue.gif If he's near or in Emporia that would work, but I doubt that's the case.

Since that's a 'duh' post, I'm going to add that I have 16 pages to write by tomorrow. sad.gif

I hate when people IM me, then have nothing to say, not even pleasant small talk. I'm happy to talk to people online, but if you're going to start a conversation, at least have more than 1 or 2 words to say when I respond! biggrin.gif

They might be like me. I say hello to people, then promptly forget that I did, only realizing again hours later when I happen to look at the taskbar. suspicious.gif

Nope, they always respond eventually, with just a word or two.

Them: "Hi"
Me: "Hi. How was your day?"
*5 minutes*
Them: "Good, u?"
Me: "Good, I did x and y, and z. Think tomorrow I'm going to __"
*10 minutes*
Me: "So, watcha up to?"
Them: "Chilling"

I feel like if you don't have more to say, don't distract me! rolleyes.gif

One day, I'll do something valuable with my time, and useful with my life.

Keep telling yourself that. Lie to yourself, like I lied to me.

That's just depressing. ;_;

Once I get my bachelor(ette)'s degree in Information Systems I'm totally going to land a 6-figure career and live the high life for the rest of my days and it's going to be a breeze and I'll be popular and wealthy and people will want to be my friend and talk to me and I'll have friends...and...and... cry.gif

We should plan you a bachelorette party.

We can play spin the bottle, and dress-up, and gossip about which boy is the cutest.

Yesterday, while playing Lusternia, I spilled five or six drops of coffee on the keyboard of my mother's netbook. I dabbed them up with a cloth napkin and resumed playing.

Forty-five minutes later, something odd began to happen: Whenever I would press Left Shift, a Z would be created in the same keystroke. Also, Zs would appear randomly while typing normally. The coffee spill had seemed so minor, I didn't even think of it at first. I thought I must have pressed some weird key combination, so I checked the Windows language and keyboard settings, rolled back the keyboard driver, tested the on-screen keyboard's Left Shift button (there are no USB keyboards to be had here, or I would have tried that), restarted in safe mode, and even did a system restore to a point created two weeks ago.

Nothing I tried made any difference. About halfway through all of that, I remembered the coffee and was 75% sure a drop or two had worked its way into the keyboard and shorted it out. Once I'd tried everything, I was 99% sure the coffee was at fault.

So, I removed the keyboard, vacuumed it with a clean vacuum attachment, popped off all the keys, cleaned them with 99% alcohol, rubbed away dust, hair and other detritus from the keyboard base with a microfiber cloth, popped the keys back in, cleaned the connectors that plug into the laptop, vacuumed it again, and popped the keyboard back into the netbook.

That didn't do any good either (same problem), and I'd known it would probably be too late when I started cleaning, but figured it was worth a shot.

* * * * * * * * * * * * *

So, long story short, I'm really glad Amazon.com sells replacement keyboards for Mom's netbook model for $19.00 + $5.00 shipping. I also probably won't be playing Lusternia much (if at all) until I get home on May 3rd, because not only do I have to use Right Shift, which is awkward, I also have to delete random Zs every fifth or six word (right as I'm typing this, for example).

Well, phooey.

I was just...terribly suprised.

A man's censor.gif should not betray him so suddenly. I feel like a giant toothpaste dispenser. Only not for toothbrushing.

So many, and yet I'm pretty sure we all know the exact one he means. :<
