Holy crap, Phoebus! I hope you get better soon! D: Definitely seek medical attention though!
Noola2010-05-18 12:42:57
Yeah, when coughing leads to blood, you need to check with a doctor to be sure you haven't done real damage. If it is strep, untreated strep can lead to all sorts of badness. If it's just the lining of your throat being ruptured, well, surely you can see how badness lies there too. If you have fluid in your lungs causing it, more badness.
Unknown2010-05-18 21:26:31
Yeah don't worry, I know what's up. I had bronchitis and then on the end of that bronchitis I got strep, and my body is being all screw you at me. I've been to the doctor, and am all medicated and such. Honestly at this point I am so used to there being something horribly wrong with me that I just kind of roll my eyes at it. Like "oh, there is blood coming out of me, AGAIN. WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED."

Mother being a raging again, attacked my brother with an empty wine bottle and then yelled at him for defending himself, then took some of his money and tore it in half, then ordered him to find a new place to live.
And now five minutes ago she tried to make up with him but he's having none of it, which basically means more screaming at 11pm when I'm trying to read/revise and my Dad's trying to sleep.
I swear to God if she was stabbed in a crowded room no one would see a thing.

Ah, family.

Why is it that my family, which is plenty dysfunctional, is apparently the most amazing family in the world?? Everyone I know seems to have really angry/volatile parents, or their parents are divorced, or they're just sleazebags, or their siblings are awful.
Not that I'm putting down your family, Lawliet. Just the more I hear about other people's families, the more I appreciate my borderline alcoholic (not violently so), workaholic dad and 100% disorganized, slightly absent-minded mother.

I think I win. Almost person for person, my family is like the Bluths from Arrested Development, personality-wise.

You watch it or my car might be used to make a noticeable dent in the skunk population.

So, hypochondriac grandmother goes to the hospital with stomach pains. Whatever. Nothing new.
...except for the part where her colon turns gangrenous, ruptures, and bursts feces all over her abdominal cavity.
So my mother calls, because her mother was expected to die. Through some exceptionally awesome surgical work, she survives through the night. I go to visit her this afternoon, and she has a stroke. While we're watching. I've watched people die, but watching the stroke was immensely more disturbing. I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight.
The plan was to only be at the hospital for a couple hours, because it sounded like the worst of it had passed and all everyone could do now was wait to see if she developed another infection. Naturally, I stayed longer, because I was awfully sure she was going to die right there and then. I still made it back to the dinner party I was cooking. It would have been cool not to take flak for the dinner being a bit later than planned, though. Hmph.

I have a hernia.
Oh, and check this. You people who actually pay taxes will like this, especially if you're married, or have been married.
When I filed my taxes for 2009, I found out that my soon to be ex wife's back child support would probably suck up all of our refund. Taking the advice of our H&R block worker, I filed for "Injured Spouse" status which means I should get at least my part of the taxes back. I was told this would be 1900 dollars, and my tax person advised me (off the record) that I shouldn't give my wife any, because about 3500 or so was taken from what we COULD have recieved by her back child support. IE, she already basically got her half plus some. My check should only have my name on it.
I called the IRS to find out the status of my claim, and I find out it will be mailed out on the 28th. (Estarra, extend the artifact sale!). Not only that, but it will be about $3992 or so.
The check will also have my wife's name on it. You know, my wife who lives two states away.

And I had four projects on said flash drive >_<
Forgive me if I've been ornery lately as a result.
