What the heck are you using Shadow Prot pots for? o.o
And I would go to a doctor... if I had a working CAR. >< Also that whole having to sleep while doctor's work thing kind of puts a kink in that plan.

Leveling an Alt. I PVP a lot, and shadow is a very common form of damage.

The real tragedy occurred sometime in the early 2000s, when space opera died out on American television. (The re-imagined Battlestar Galactica was a wonderful and much-appreciated exception to this.) I suppose Lost does qualify as science fiction, but from what I've heard it's more like a serious, modern castaway story with some mysterious elements tossed in, kind of like a lite Stephen King novel. I'm not saying it's a bad show, however, although it doesn't interest me personally.
For years (mostly the 1990s), I was blissfully unaware that space opera television was an endangered species. I took it for granted. You couldn't swing a remote without hitting Babylon 5, three flavors of Star Trek, Lexx, Andromeda, Stargate SG-1, Farscape (my all-time favorite), the short-lived Firefly, and a number of others I simply can't recall the names of. I didn't like all of them, but they were there.
These days, it's Stargate Universe. That's it. SGU is trying to emulate Battlestar Galactica, and opened its pilot episode with the United States Air Force recruiting a teenager to their top-secret wormhole program because he solved a riddle in a video game. I stopped watching the show immediately right then and there.
So, I stick almost exclusively to the Science Channel, Discovery Channel, History Channel, PBS (English detective mysteries and Black Adder, yum), and occasionally Animal Planet now. I will watch the Siffy Channel if Star Trek: The Next Generation is showing, but that's really about it. You all can keep your damned derivative cop and CSI shows, "reality" (i.e., staged and unscripted) shows, and the like. That being said, there are some gems out there, like Monk (which also ended this year), and despite wanting to hate them, occasionally one of the new shows does pique my interest.

The only thing I watch anymore is Adult Swim, and only about 1/3 of the shows thereon. TV has indeed gone to the dogs over the last two decades or so.

I haven't watched anything religiously since Avatar went off the air, except for those super-pretty series by Discovery/the BBC. Planet Earth and Life. So much scenery porn.

I watch a lot of TV religiously. Thanks to my TiVo who catches it for me when I can't be home to see it and lets me watch it later.

Some of the coworkers I need to communicate with for benefits fulfillment at my job (benefits for my clients, not me) make me want to climb walls and destroy things. No matter what I do, regardless of how many lists I send or who I call, some idiot makes direct contact with my clients' employees and then all bets are off. Just in the last two weeks I've gotten multiple e-mails and phone calls about:
1. Refusal of entry until someone pulled out their health insurance card to prove they work for a client
2. Ditto, because everyone mysteriously forgot about alternate forms of ID
3. Ditto, along with exclaiming loudly that "We're having trouble getting payment from (client)" <-- Not only not true, but COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE TO SAY

There's something wrong with my laptop and I can't figure out how to fix it. The QuickTouch lights, caps and num lock lights and the light that indicates the touch pad is on are all non-functional. I mean, they all work, but the lights stay off so I can't tell I'm in caps lock until I type and I have to blindly poke at the QuickTouch bar in the general place I know the volume control to be.
It's annoying! But, at least all those things still actually work. Even if I'm inconvenienced by not being able to see any of it.
Of course, the useless logo light on the lid works fine!

Having just caught up with Supernatural series 5 and its deeply unsatisfying ending I was glad to see it'd been renewed for a sixth season. But it was unnaturally extended due to demand and won't have the same director. And I'm worriewd it's going to turn out like heroes.
This may just seem like unreasonable paranoia but it feels like it really could and should have ended at this point. I guess I'll just hope it can go out gracefully.

I liked the ending and the fact that the author/prophet turned out to most likely have been God all along

Just because a show is too complicated for you doesn't make it bad.

My grandmother died this morning. It was a long time coming, she definitely wanted to go, but the world is short one good person...
...and gained a new bastard. My stepbrother picked a fight with his roommate, got punched, and called the cops on his childhood friend and got him sent to jail for assault. About to go play referee with my stepbrother and the roommate's dad to try to get him to drop the charges. My dad said he'd do it, except that him and my stepbrother aren't on great terms either. Add in a very messy divorce between him and his mother that finalizes tomorrow morning, and, well...yeah. Off I go.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. And I hope everything goes smoothly with your stepbrother.
