It is, but sadly, there's been a long term trend of friendly relations with Celest that causes Celest values (aka, the goodie-two-shoes effect) to seep in. So there will always be that faction.
To be fair, the anti-tbc seemed to start/get the rubber stamp with a divines reaction to a seren performing it from memory. Then people are all like "remember Grutina!" and so on

I know Lisaera badmouthed it/punished someone in Her Order who did it.

How come when I did this a village revolted and I got called lots of nasty names by the villagers.

It is awfully weird that it is okay to let the taint defend you but you refuse to do 'tainted' quests, truth be told.

That is called double standards.
Coming from someone who was always against doing the TBC, it does seem to be hypocritical in the present day politics.

So scholars go study in a Wyrd Library. Who says they become mind-controlled and wyrded themselves?
Atellus2010-01-12 07:44:51
ooc clans that are not marked as being ooc in the help summary are annoying.
Heck the entire way that ooc clans are dealt with is annoying. I wish they were clearly marked in their help file and did not show in normal honours. It would help a lot in how I am "supposed" to react or not react IC to things.

Continuum is more awesome than Vortex. Found it too icky to my liking.
Shiri2010-01-12 08:23:03
There's always going to be someone who wants "darker and edgier."
I'll probably be more interested in vortex when the mobs actually express their POV to their guild...if they do.

The Vortex and Continuum mobs are non-sentient (thank Gawd).
As for scholars and bards, how the heck does bringing them to Glomdoring make them 'wyrden'? They stick around for awhile, scribbling out equations or twanging their sitar, and then they take off back to wherever they came from (back to the mountains?). No org could justify killing them except for Magnagora, because they're bastards.

Oh ho ho. Are you so certain with the truth of your words, dearest Azoth?

Have you been feeding scholars through the Wyrdling again? Tsk tsk tsk.

Wrong. The only person who did do it was not in Lisaera's order. It was me who brought it up and it was Zia who did it.

Don't forget the Byrlle-capades on the Seren news boards about how horrible we were for killing babies.. OH NO NOT THE BAAABIES.
Plus the absolute :censor: that enables an entire Basin to know that Night likes her baby back ribs raw, but a village across the street is completely oblivious to it for over 100 years. Yet, they can figure out, with no denizen in the room over the course of a couple hours that we killed their baby twice.
Gregori2010-01-12 12:28:17
As for the TBC thing arguing it on the forums is a pretty stupid, yet completely lusternian, concept. It's an IC reaction and while some people are retards and kill bards/scholars "cause oh noes they are tainted now" it is hardly the norm for people in Serenwilde. I cringe whenever I see people on ct say "oh just kill the bards, they are tainted afterall" Cause, well, they are not. Brainwashed, by tainted propaganda sure, physically tainted no.
It's far more justifiable to say "kill the bards/scholars because it stops Glomdoring from getting them making their raising TBC pointless"

They don't talk to people atm but I don't think we can rule out that they're sentient yet...
Ronny2010-01-12 13:01:44
As far as I can tell, the justification for killing bards and scholars is so that their closest competitor (Glomdoring) can't benefit from the TBC which isn't the same as killing them because they are under the influence of the Taint or whatever you think it might be. The "If I can't have them, nobody else can" mindset. Why the huge argument over the obvious?
Unknown2010-01-12 13:02:21
At this point, I'd gladly do the TBC quest. Why should I be any more against the Taint now than I am against Light, Logic, Emotion, or anything else? Because history says so? P'shaw.
Unknown2010-01-12 13:03:46
A God said somewhere that the non-super mobs aren't sentient. The spheres and fleshpots we'll have to see about. I'm guessing that both planes will have an overarching 'sentience' that encompasses everything there, and it more of a hivemind kind of thing that an individual with any sort of personality.
Stewarts didn't have a good IC reason to revolt all of a sudden cause you guys killed the baby, but it did have a good OOC reason to revolt because it had become impossible for Glomdoring to perform even its first restoration quest.
And oh God please don't make 'logic' and 'emotion' into Halli and Gaudi's 'light' and 'taint'. That's not how it works. I can see it now, "DURR DEFENDERS TO CELESTIA THEY R LOGICING AND MELDING." "Don't listen to the evil Gaudiguchians (editor's note-that can't possibly be the right term, can it?) they r trying to spread the emotions!"

Don't think you can do it. If I remember correctly, a mob you have to influence is undead and you need to be undead or have a crow cloak to influence him. Of course, you could pick it up after someone else is done influencing. Or I'm completely wrong. In that case, ignore.
