The problem with Hallifax is that MAP isn't as useful as it is in the other cities, as it doesn't show the rooms past up/down exits.

I do better the less orderly it is. Memorizing Magnagora was less than a day. Celest was a month, maybe longer. Hallifax will likely be this time next year.

it's more about remembering what would go where

from bottom to top it's

stables and aetherplex is bottom level
gambling stuff is above that
generators
utilities? maybe (bank, news, post office, etc)
merchants/trade
artists/matrix
scientists
administration

though for the top four it's more the entrances are on that level and you need to head up from there. unsure.gif

MAP does help for getting your bearings but it's all a matter of remembering things

What rant? It was strictly an advisement!

As a note, for really everyone, I (and I suspect everyone else) have the intention of treating rants about design reviewers in the same vein as guides/builders/gods.

IE, it's not allowed.

If you've a complaint about design reviewers, message the Charites in game, as Elostian said. If you've a complaint about the Charites, e-mail support@lusternia.com.

It's a sad day on the internets when someone can't make a flip remark about grammar nazis on a forum. I know you're responsible for keeping the peace here, but c'mon guys. Lighten up a bit, eh? cool.gif

P.S. Thank you for fixing that 'I has'. I thought you were trying to mess with me for a minute there. happy.gif

It boils down to this - design reviewers are taking the load off our shoulders. People rant, they quit reviewing designs. Far faster than the administrators, I suspect. It's a difficult, thankless affair to begin with, I'd rather step on the possibility of it growing out of control before it actually becomes a problem.

So, it's not directed at you so much, as a statement of intent.

(Besides, I really don't want to have to deal with designs ever, ever again!)

Go kill them. Seriously, you wont get enemied to anything. You want to do the quest? Just wack em.

Also, I'm practically the only bard in Hallifax. This makes me sad. Only pro being I'm more likely to get a guild position should we ever get a bard guild. I demand a bard guild.. I can't kill using shadowbeat. This also makes me sad.

Well you can get in trouble if Hallifax catches you wacking them. (that is why you ask a befriended gaudi to do it)

Also most people that want to be hallifax bard have temporarily taken aeromancer or will come over when the guild is actually available. I am afraid however a lot of people will object to you getting guildleadership

Of course they will. The only reason being someone else that has nothing to do with me as a person alone. Though that is a completely different and more drawn out conversation. I assume it will be awhile before the matter ever comes up, people will get over it eventually when I'm active enough being a good boy.

Shouldn't have coded in a Charites-only button!

You see, the Kepheras once dreamed of becoming cockroaches flying, so a few secretly went to Hallifax and started the Sky Hive. There was also this other band of Kepheras who wanted to have glowbutts be fire flies, so they went to Gaudiguch and started the Infernal Hive. No one else apart from the City leadership knew of this. When the Cities disappeared, the secret got lost in time, literally. superninja.gif

Psh, that's false memory. Kephera have always existed.

As someone who never uses MAP and forgets how many other people use it, this is a blindingly illuminating observation. Thank you, this really makes a lot more sense of why so many people have so much more trouble with Hallifax than I would have expected.
Kharaen2010-01-24 14:46:25
Eh, at least your designs are getting reviews.
Unknown2010-01-24 14:58:34
Yeah, they caught my "acrosss", which I missed on five different rereads before submitting, so it's cool.
Shaddus2010-01-24 15:09:39
I personally think it's awesome that we have mortal design approvers now. Though I'm angry that I wasn't selected for the role, I hope the people who were selected do an awesome job. I've already had a handful of designs get approved, some rejected for decent reasons, and I think it will go smoothly after a while of getting used to it.

My beast is super girly :3

A beautiful, golden mare with a grey mane
This mare has a beautiful frame, with sleek muscles denoting speed and grace whenever she moves. She occasionally tosses her luxurious mane as she whinnies and snorts, and her grey eyes blink slowly, taking in the world. Her sleek coat is coloured golden, with a grey mane sprouting proudly from her body. Blinking occasionally and swishing her tail, she has the forebearing look of a creature waiting for something interesting to happen.

It's actually really easy. Even I get it, and I'm a god, meaning that I don't have to navigate it, I can just go wherever I want.

It takes about half an hour of getting lost, if that. As long as you realise that it's basically two pyramids made of squares, with their bases attached to eachother and built around the generator for the lower pyramid and the matrix for the upper pyramid, you'll have it down in no time.

I found that mapping the place out on paper, in terms of what each ward, precinct combo leads to, solved it for me.

That said, the shops are set up such that a lot of people probably find it more worth their while to just use the aetherplex. Heck, three of the shops are still empty.
