It's not that bad, honestly. I really enjoy Hallifax.. just some of the views I have are apparently different from other people. I just don't understand how a very simple RP can be distorted into 15 different ways that are all different. I have a view of how Hallifax is supposed to be in my head, I apparently need to get rid of it and ride the wave.

I am very much aware of the 'time bomb' in question. One cat fight does not make for a Celest-type situation, and even if it did, Celest wasn't half as bad off as some on the forums made it out to be. A lot of people were hurt, and a lot of damage was done, but Celest's fundamental ability to exist and function wasn't threatened. One look at 'topguilds' is enough to show that they're still puttering along in their own way. Heck, they've got two villages. That's more than a lot of orgs have had at certain points in their histories.
I think we're talking about two different time bombs.
Edit: My time bomb is a long way off and has nothing to do with anything happening now. I just worry about the future.

Really? I'm not really surprised that there are different views of it. I mean, if you ask 15 different people what happened about a certain incident you'll more than likely get similar but different views of it. You'll get a few in there are very different. Perception will always be different for everyone.
Not necessarily a bad thing to just ride the wave, y'know. Maybe it could be more interesting to go with the flow than what you had in mind. You'll never know unless you flow.

If you just keep speaking about 'privileged information' that allows you to see far into the future and predict the coming doom but won't tell anyone your reasons for seeing this far, how can you expect anyone to agree with you and address these issues?
Honestly, this sort of doomsaying really is not at all productive.
The 'Louisiana psychic' sketch comes to mind:
'I don't know where, I don't know when, but something awful is going to happen!'

The worst part? Basically anything you want to do in Magnagora requires two meetings of leadership. And those two halves never, ever agree. Ever.

Eh. I don't know about ticking time bombs, though I can definitely see possibilities. There are, in my opinion, some short and mid- term issues for Hallifax - things that are problems now and others that are starting to show themselves or will shortly.
In the short term, Hallifax has little in the way of defenses because there are no guards. Combined with this is the fact that Cririk's attitude toward combatants has been pretty well absorbed by a lot of people in the city. Not everyone drank the same amount of Combatants-are-inferior Kool-Aid, thankfully, but many did. Being anti-combatant or anti-rewarding-of-combatants is kind of a bad idea when a representative of the administration has basically sicced an entire civilization on you a la Scuchidira.
Also in the short term, the leadership of Hallifax is pretty scatter shot. Some are good, some are mediocre, and some are so low-key that people think they don't exist or don't log on. A strong leadership group is kind of important when an organization is being established.
Along those lines I rather hope you guys de-bug the "election sphere" idea before using it for the new guilds; the Aeromancers' spheres were buggy and the elections were less than 24 hours long.
The mid-term issues deal more with the guilds. Right now the Aeromancers are the only game in town for Hallifax, and some of the "ooh new shiny!" is still there. However, once the shiny wears off for said guild and for the guardian and warrior guilds, each one is going to have to manage the issue of member retention. I think the biggest problem for the Aeromancers - other than the fact that most of the "support staff positions" (secretaries, security, archivists) are empty - will probably be balancing the Hallifax RP of intellectual and artistic pursuits with making advancement in the guild obtainable and fun. There's a balance between requiring effort and advocating tedium.
In and of themselves, nothing I've said above would constitute a ticking time bomb in the long term. Over time, however, things can fester, and it's probably best to nip them in the bud now.
