A demigod won Life. Nerf!

The joke somewhat loses its oomph when you make it after every single event.

The top 5 was a full list of Demis / Ascendants. ohmy.gif

I really want some kind of proof that demis get more aether crits, or that they don't.

Being booted off onto some random module because the crew has 3 demis to gun is becoming annoying when there's no proof.
Arte2010-02-07 00:25:40
Even if they get more critical hits, the people on the lesser modules still earn experience at a far, far slower rate with crit-heavy people turreting than they would if they were manning the guns themselves. Not to mention that most demigods have huge willpower pools, and access to high regeneration, meaning that they can operate without exhaustion failures for hours at a time, meaning that over the course of a three hour hunt no one else will have an opportunity to gun. Wouldn't it be more effective to the lower-level people go first, then swap them out for the demigods when they're empty? But like everything else involving aetherspace (and most everything else), Hallifax's chosen few have remained adamant in not listening to reason and refusing to see things from anyone else's perspective. Our policy is basically "Only demigods are allowed to turret, unless we don't have three available", which runs completely counter to the reasons that we aetherhunt in the first place (so that we have more demigods). As long as they're going to do this, I'm just going to boycott aetherhunting with the city, because I'm better off bashing.

Critical Hit Runes:
- These runes allow you to get extra critical hits when bashing.
Level 50 persons get critical hits about 1.6% of the time; at level
65 this rises to 6.4%, and at level 80 it rises to 16.6%.
- This bonus includes aethership bashing.
Doman2010-02-07 00:29:03
edit: retracted, I will need to look into this more.
Arte2010-02-07 00:29:40
The level bonus or the crit rune bonus?

whaaa I invest 0 gold and 0 credits in to an aethership and the person that invested 5.5million gold and 3000 credits picks herself and her friends to turret, life is so unfair!

The bonus from the crit rune does.

Pretty sure the level thing doesn't though, because I got very few crits with low aethercraft. From what I could tell it is based on skill-level, not actual level.

Thank you, Xenthos. You are awesome.

I was under the impression that the ship was Hallifax's "city ship", and that it had therefore been opened up to everyone for the good of that city. 'We all serve the collective!', etc. If this is not the case, and it in fact exists solely to increase the essence counters of people who never participate in PK, and therefore really have no use for tens of millions of essence, then perhaps you should alter its privs and stop constantly advertising for people to siphon for you over the city channel.

Ship proficiency matters a lot, nearly as much as skill rank.

Why do demigods aetherhunt?

Or more generally, how is essence useful after the first few million?

Gank insurance. And your ranking among other level 100's is determined by essence. I shudder to think how much Lendren has.

To watch the text numbers go up.

To use for raiding (2 million essence a death can sting).

To try to get #1 in experience rankings (though I don't think any of Halli's demis are doing it for this reason; at least, not seriously so. They're all very far back).

You said it at the end, they're asking for siphoners. Back-up siphoning is the easiest experience you can get, so don't complain that you can't turret.
