Nexus did that (sometimes deleting whole trigger groups) before they introduced the version currently used. I can only recommend saving your data very often. Very very.
The new version brought along nexus slowing down after a certain time until it completely breaks down, though. So, there is some progress, at least.

Slowdown you can solve by reconnecting IS preferable to randomly losing triggers.
Obligatory 'try a real mud client' comment here. Some of them are even tolerable.

Trust me, I tried that, I get the trial version EVERY time.
And, I hate to admit it, but I get confused by the other clients.

Experimental is not the same as trial.
And, there are a lot of people willing to help someone get a real client up and running, not to mention some free scripts and tutorials already available. MUSHclient, for example, can be a tad confusing, but the author has some excellent YouTube videos to help.

Oh, in case there was a misunderstanding... now you randomly lose triggers AND get slowed down. I'd rather have the old version back. Or a better new one.

I agree.
But, in the meantime.. if there's anyone out there that has a lot of patience... I guess I could give Mushclient another try. I already have it downloaded and I know how to log in, but, from there.. I'm pretty lost.

Wowza, the got wtf-pawned by the guards at mag, scrolled up to check something, then the spam-lag made it so I could do anything except watch my slider bar reach the top in a matter of seconds as my buffer was filled up by guard spam, had to force quit so I could pray

I'm terribly disappointed that I didn't get an entry submitted for Glomdoring's library annex design contest. I had all the Black Tower descs and the contest rules pasted into .txt files and was excited to get started.
In addition to being an overwhelmed novice player with a million things to do in-game (or so it seems), I took a twelve-hour bus ride to visit my mother on the 10th, and for the past six days I've been ludicrously busy RL-wise. I tried to get it written yesterday, but somehow didn't have a chance until 11 PM... and we've been waking up at 6 AM to go to the YMCA together to exercise. I considered pulling an all-nighter, but I was already too exhausted to think.
So, phooey.

I found out why Nicholo got kicked out of Gaudiguch, and now I'm so upset about it IC and OOC...
... as if I wasn't upset enough about leaving Gaudiguch and a shot at the Illuminati, PLUS leaving Kalikai's Order...

This is why you don't hang out with enemies in the first place.
Life happens, you're not completely banned and Illuminati aren't out for ages. If you really want to, you really could come back, you'd just be watched I'd imagine.
Unknown2010-04-16 15:27:27
I want the illuminati to accept non-gaudiguchians in their numbers. Kinda be one of the few guilds that would let rogues be members.
Unknown2010-04-16 15:36:20
Guardians tend to be some of the more power needy people, though, so you'd be crippling yourself quite a bit there.

Also don't think you can join without being in the city.
But yeah, would in generall be a bad idea due to power consumption.
Eventru2010-04-16 15:43:47
Would seem odd to me if the secretive Illuminati were accepting every non-Gaudiguchian.
*twiddle* My two cents.

It's more on principal then in practice. I don't like how guilds are treated as entirely subordinate to the city. If the dude breaks a city law, kick him from the city, but untill he gets caught breaking a GUILD rule, why are we booting him?
EDIT: And I'm not saying EVERY non gaudiguchian, but why does enlightenment need to be restricted to gaudiguchians?
Unknown2010-04-16 16:59:08
If you were enlightened, you'd already know the answer to that question (and it's been said many times before on these forums and elsewhere).
