It is really hard to answer a novice's questions when the raids* are literally spaced less than thirty seconds apart. I just lost a novice asking how to perform music for lack of one solid minute to answer.
*I know, I know, it's somehow our fault, don't bother to zerg. A does something to B, so as punishment, C does something to D, who barely even knows A and didn't even get to hear about what he did to B. Swap sides and repeat infinitely. Enjoy your meaning-free conflict.
Edit: Seems to have stopped just after I posted this, for now. Too late to save that novice though. Maybe he'll come back, but I wouldn't expect it.

The amount of raiding was part of why I quit playing Lusternia for a year and a half. Magnagora's in the same place now that it was when I left, so it's disheartening. I don't like to see novices being neglected because people are forced to defend, nor do I like to feel like I can't say anything over CT/GT/CGT/etc. because I'll get forced to help defend.
And I know this is an old topic, but I never really got to put my 2 gold into it. I don't raid. I don't participate in any aspect of it. If I am going to participate in it, it's because I'm volunteering to defend, not because I'm being forced to. If I'm getting forced to defend, I'll probably just log (or hide in my manse).
I feel slightly better now that I've thrown that out there.

The being forced to defend thing is mostly why I long for my gem to take me off CWHO/GWHO as well. :/ Not that there's a huge amount of forcing going on, but it's kind of crappy on my conscience to ignore it now that I'm council.

I just realized that I gave my enchanted, fully proofed splendour robes to a novice somehow instead of the robes I meant to give him, after I JUST made the things.

Oh, that. I was really silly and the first time I walked into the village, I didn't realise there were guards. I was actually able to run away fast enough without dying, but in the panic I used my divinefire and then got trapped. Then I waited from about dawn to midnight for divinefire to recharge, then forgot to activate it before reaching the guard room.

I feel slightly better knowing I'm not alone in this. I'm just not a combatant. Never have been and never will be (most likely), and I don't want to lose any of the experience I've managed to scrape together (though after my last few deaths, I somehow gathered up the motivation to gain experience beyond what I'd lost ).
Dynami2010-05-01 06:43:22
I replaced some of my enchanted rings, had my robes mended, and got a new mask!

A grassy corner of the camp.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. Surrounded on one side by a wooden wall of stakes and on the other, numerous tents, this area of dusty grasses is relatively bare save for animal furs stacked in large mounds outside one of the tents. Distinctly feline footprints criss-cross around the path, intermingling with each other and becoming untraceable. To the southeast, a trail of smoke can be seen; meandering its way up into the sky overhead. Littering the ground on the opposite side of the path are several fishing hooks, alongside snapped bowstrings and dirty, tattered feathers. A gorgeous garnet glitters on the ground.
You see exits leading east, southeast, south, southwest, and in.

Cut by a master jeweler, this garnet sparkles with many facets.
It is strangely weightless.
There is a flame-shaped sigil firmly attached.

This is the worst trolling I've ever seen. At least put it somewhere people VISIT.
Also, Aslaran Females should not be using their breakarm and knockdown attacks almost exclusively. It's excessive and irritating.

There's a set of them. No duplicates, but one of nearly every gem (or maybe every gem and I just haven't found the pearl and onyx yet). It smells like a scavenger hunt.
Besides, people visit that spot all the time.

Meh. Anywho, whoever killed the cook is a jerk.
He should be as strong as Surtami. It'd cut down on the killings of him.

Are you positive that he's dead? He leaves the room fairly often.

Been here for 15 minutes. Either he's off choking the chicken, or he's dead.

Right. That's the result of a scavenger hunt run by Xypher for the Serenwilde about a week ago.
