Tervic you are so getting kidnapped. You will have to eat your pie in Celest from now on.
I believe the food was sent by Peccy.

Just got the chance to look at the log of my death earlier today, and I was off balance for just over 18 seconds, through no action of my own. Fix stacking balance loss, please?
Vathael2009-08-29 01:19:52
Iasmos: You have to have balance loss stacking to ever be able to sacrifice someone.. that's the whole point of it.
Lendren: Your connection had nothing to do with you getting zap killed.

I'm sure you could manage a sacrifice another way, especially when there's a half dozen people hitting me.
And, Lendren's zap death was because he had just transversed and couldn't shield without equilibrium (and we didn't sprinkle the salt as fast as you lot could auto-zap).
Vathael2009-08-29 02:18:32
Actually, no, you can't. It takes you 3 seconds to writhe off and crucify is 4s eq loss if I remember correctly. On top of that you have to shrivel for 4 limbs which is what 2 or 3s of more eq loss per use that they have to stay on the cross for. Lendren was shielded, actually. He had been up there for a while. If you were paying attention you'd have seen that I walked in and razed his shield/speed, left, and he died to zap.
Lendren2009-08-29 02:27:18
There was no reason to pick me over the other targets there. We had people who would have been easier kills, people who would have been worth far more experience, people who might have posed an actual threat, people who had actually done something in the past arguably worth avenging, and people for whom a death would have actually cost them something. There's no justification other than that anyone else could have re-raised shields or reflections fast enough. But my commands to do that didn't go through until after I was long since dead; in fact, the entire encounter came through in two bursts of text, and by time the response to the first burst went through, the second burst had already happened. Not that any of it mattered: it had no effect on anything. But then, that's what that whole farce was about.
Vathael2009-08-29 02:38:07
Sorry we decided to kill someone that never gets killed cause all he does is influence guards and go up to zap raiders from the nexus (Irony!). I'm not saying anything about guard influencing, but I'm sure you're not missing what you lost if you have not gained it back already.
Ronny2009-08-29 03:05:13
Why are you reasoning, Lendren? They killed you because they wanted to kill you.
Unknown2009-08-29 10:59:38
Right. I got confused. It was Sarrasri who transversed and was mass zapped, but she didn't quite die from it.
We overestimated the usefulness of our 40 guards, so much that we didn't think to block the exits until after Lendren was killed. At least the stunt taught us that lesson.

...Because that's what I can do. I'm sure you'd be doing less than that with a 3000ms ping time. Did it ever occur to you that I lose more essence on each raid than if I died twice per raid? I don't care about using the essence either way, that's what it's for. That you completely missed the point on this thread is, in its way, the point.

Man, seeing the photos you've posted of your place... I'd be totally up for trading a good connection for that, hehe.

Yep, being dead definitely prevents me from doing nothing whatsoever but standing there.
Oh, wait, no it doesn't.
Though even Vathael says it wasn't intended to stop me from doing anything. It's actually kind of refreshing that he's up front about that he's killing people for no purpose other than because he can, in a raid with no objective. It's just funny that that's a defense, rather than an accusation.
Everiine2009-08-29 16:09:30
I hate to say it, but-- if you enter an area being raided, expect to be attacked and killed. That's the risk we all take when we enter a raided area.
