I don't understand the point of pretending to be drunk and high all day in a text game. I can see the attraction IRL, but it's just really annoying after a bit in game.

I don't see the attraction IRL, either.

I think the main thing is that Gaudiguch's revelry goes further than the superficial. Much like how certain sects in the Hindu society intake large amounts of marijuana, alcohol, and related substances in an effort to "purge" themselves and move on.

I look at Gaudi's occasional drunken and high stupor as more of a spiritual quest, than a physical one.

This. Lucan never gets high or drunk, but he'd consider it to further his enlightenment. Though I can honestly just see him getting all *rageface* at the smilies after smoking weed.

People who are very young may do it to try it out because they don't do it IRL.

Glad to know the intelligent, literate youth of today will be encouraged and enabled to become alcohol abusers.

I don't really see it as encouragement anymore than cybering at a young age might encourage a kid to become a... word I'm not going to use on these forums. Honestly, it's a safer alternative to actually doing it, which plenty of kids will. Besides that, actually doing it IRL will encourage continuing it more than doing it in a game, in my opinion.

The bottom line is: you don't want your kids doing it in-game or IRL? Then actually pay some censor.gif attention to what they're doing, don't just sit them in front of the computer and walk off, then blame the game for messing up your kids.

Cause all those homicidal, genocidal, sociopaths that IRE pumps out on a daily basis are a good thing.

I'm sure we all agree that the herd could use a bit of culling.

As much complaining about fact that people are partying Gaudiguch as I'm reading, I wonder if people are trying to push it too far the other way? Cause Gaudi, from what I can tell, is meant to have partying. There's supposed to be drinking and smoking and so on.

It's just that that's not all it's supposed to be. It's supposed to have that hidden side where it's all serious and about enlightenment and power and perfection and what not.

But, I see all this complaining and I wonder, are people trying too hard to weed out the partiers? Why not use them as your top layer? Let those folks who only wanna sit around being goofy all day do that and be the veneer everyone sees when they look at Gaudiguch. Then, the smart ones, who realize there's more to it can plot to have the power.

I dunno. I just wonder if, in the zeal to try to make people see something other than a 'party town' folks will forget that it's actually supposed to be a little bit of a party town.

^^ this

I don't want Gaudiguch to not have parties. I want Gaudiguch to do more than have parties. Mieari has plans for festivals and parties and stuff that let the city maintain its party atmosphere without making the city nothing but California on spring break.

That's really a shame. Lusty has such a bad alcohol simulator.

Is there anyone in particular doing this? I can just mail the kids some Skol or something, so they won't have to look back and be embarrassed at how badly they're doing drunk wrong.

Yeah, when I started it on an alt, I was very "wtf is wrong with halli". But once you learn it, it's very simple, and helps you learn the city. You'll get the commissar thing before you know it.

Really, it's better than most, just because its output is higher. Gaudi's needs four or five more initiates really.

Nah. It's still pretty bad. Hallifax got that nifty 5000 number on their generator not long ago. It was that bad. The gaudiguch quest is perhaps the easiest for non-novices, but it could use far more initiates yes. Most such quests have around 10 power-quest-items available at any one hour, but Gaudi has I think only five. It should be doubled.

Your facetiousness was completely lost in the fact that you had no indication whatsoever in your post that you were being facetious, so I took it literally, as it appeared to be written. One of these tongue.gif might have helped. happy.gif

You foolish little skunk. Love ain't free. It costs time and money. Mostly money. You think a diamond ring is cheap? Better hope your credit card is up to date.
