Someone has been lying about me, and I got killed as a result of it. This is entirely uncalled for and VERY uncool.

To top it all off, I can't even defend myself because the people I've been lied about TOO have snubbed me.

She is wearing a dark green suit resembling a sunflower stem, a pink earthworm wedding ring topped with a rainbow butterfly, a bright red cloak, a pink princess backpack, and a bright yellow hat resembling a sunflower head.

I know the feeling. Nothing quite that bad has happened to Felicia (not yet, anyway), but a while back I discovered that several people whom I'd never even met before hated Felicia with a passion, on the basis of completely (and I do mean completely) erroneous assumptions.

It wasn't limited to purely IC interaction, either. One of the people involved snubbed me in-game, and sent some pretty nasty forum PMs as well.

It's a bit ludicrous, because what it boils down to is people becoming e-angry for little or no reason. I'm not as endlessly cheery as Noola, and neither is Felicia, but I'm a reasonable, approachable and helpful person. The same is true of Felicia, for the moment, anyway (I'm not entirely sure how her RP will develop moving forward).

Just pray you don't get on the bad side of a powerful, influential clique for whatever reason.

I wouldn't have any RP if I didn't do that.

Especially the "for whatever reason" part.

Guilds come with a nice little event thing leading up to them usually; some explanation for where they are coming from and why. I can't see Guardians just plopping open without something going on with the spheres / fleshpots, which means event, which means death and destruction for at least a couple of days.

You'll most likely know when they're ready to start releasing it. This is why I've been so surprised with people saying "maybe this weekend!" yesterday... while they might prove me wrong here, they do tend to like the flashy theatrics.

They also make Lusternia more interesting than just, "Oh, gee, another guild is now open, la de da."

In short: Don't get so worked up about it being soon, just play around and have fun with what you've got. When the event starts, then you can start getting excited / worked up.

This is the traditional pattern.

It has happened with bards (the Voices), it has happened with Ebonguard/Shadowdancers, it has happened with Blacktalon. It happened with Aeromancers / Pyromancers and Templars / Sentinels.

I'm not sure about monks, though.

Oh, I understand the difference! It's just that some people tend to point out every bad thing that has happened and ignore any accomplisments (this is not about me, personally).

Yes, well, there's a major difference between sportsmanlike, all-in-good-fun conflict, and people who are unable to separate their character's feelings from their own -- holding grudges and harboring real ill will towards other players because of in-character squabbles.

Personally, I may fight someone to the death in-game, but have a cordial conversation with them on the forums; or have a heated argument with someone on the forums, but interact with their character in-game as though no such argument occurred. That's the way it's supposed to be, but that's not always the way it is.

you mean the guild we were told would be coming out at the time it came out? The only reason it was a surprise was because it was either sentinels at the time they came out or researchers by the end of the month.

We get told "End of May or Beginning of June" hence it is not unreasonable to think that they would be out... well up to two weeks ago.



I don't think anyone is expecting a repeat of monks. (Serens was just the monk tutor saying "Hey guys who wants to be monks")



Unavoidable, it might have been a soft target but the people who have been waiting for these guilds for nearly half a year now are going to be getting hopeful every single weekend and have been disappointed every single weekend, you can't expect otherwise.

Again it's not that we're expecting them to just be open, but when it get's to saturday (for me) and nothing happens, you think "oh maybe sunday" then it's sunday and you think "FFS... maybe next weekend"

So these tweets will probably keep happening every weekend because every weekend the people waiting for the guilds to open are being disappointed.

I am not disappointed! I have seen the possible candidates for the Illuminati leadership and the guild opening terrifies me. I mean I plan to go Illuminati, but man oh man... I fear the worst for when it comes to the first three leaders.

Oddly I have more concerns about what's going to happen to the Aeromancer leadership when the great guild hop to the researchers commences

My point is that it is completely avoidable.

If the event hasn't started Friday, don't get your hopes up for the weekend. If it hasn't started on Saturday, really don't go "Oh maybe Sunday." While there's a chance, it's extremely minor! It's not worth the fretting and angsting.

It'll be ready when it's ready.

I want my Sentinels honour. It's only been a month or two.
