Back to Common Grounds.

Initially, Gaudi did start off as Mag V2 because all your fighters came from there, they acted like they were Mags, fought like they were Mags (had the same systems), etc.
Unknown2010-07-05 22:34:42
Whatever happened in the past doesn't really matter anymore, anyway, I just had my own grievances to air.

I'd like to think both Gaudi and Glom are getting pretty good at staying out of each other's way now, and that's perfectly fine with me. Up until some shrubs get unleafy again, at least.

Also what Rika just said.

Lol did you actually use systems as a defense?

I guess everyone must be serenwilde then since most people use Treant.

Though the same could be said of Hallifax by this argument, you were/are Glom 2.0 all your fighters came from there, acted like they were gloms, fought like they were gloms... Ask Serenwilde, they got raided by the glomfaxians often enough.

Sounds about right to me!

The fact is, all new orgs need people to populate them, and those people had to come from somewhere.

Glom started off as Mag 2 as well but eventually grew out of it, and I'm sure both orgs will/are do it eventually.

Gaudi, for whatever reason, got a lot of Serens and Mags right off the bat, many of whom basically remained Serens and Mags.

Akui came from Seren, but it wasn't any planned thing. Initially I wasn't even planning on moving, but I really loved Gaudi's theme once I spent some time there.

Almost immediately, the group of people come to be labeled as "fire mags" started tearing around, blasting people, generally picking fights with the same people they would have fought in mag (camping Celestia for... no reason I could figure out). This stirred up a lot of :censored: for Gaudi that we really didn't need at all.

Eventually, the firemags were bled away though their own inactivity, not liking where the city was going, going back to their original org to hang out with their old crew, or via political headbutting. (Or they were "converted", or simply came from mag but would never qualify as a "firemag" to begin with save for this literal fact (Lyria, for example). Over the RL months, more of the "old org allegiance" has bled away, though not entirely, from those that remained.

What we're left with is an org that has far fewer combatants, but is actually its own org. This, to me at least, is a much preferrable situation.

Of course, Gaudis still get reffered to as "firemags" now and then, but the term is, effectively, dead. The only excuse for its use now is ignorance or trying to incite opinion against gaudis. Like, saying, "Germany is bad because once there was a Hitler."

Godwin'd!

When a system is only primarily available for one "side", it is a strong indication of who is on whose side. Treant is free to use for everyone, so it is not restricted in the same way.

No, I don't disagree that Hallifax started off as Glom V2. However, you can't say we (read: I) didn't make efforts to make agreements with everyone other than Gaudi.

Edit: Agree with Akui. I said initially, Gaudi started off as Mag V2, but that is no longer the case now. No need to get worked up over what has already happened in the past.

I use my system as a defense all the time. Zing!

On topic, though, I always saw the choice as logical. Glom took Halli under their defense, so Gaudi needed to align with a city that had combatants. Seren had/has near none, Celest was pretty quiet at the time, too.
Gregori2010-07-05 22:49:22
The fact is it's an absolutely stupid statement to make to begin with. Orgs need to be populated, period.

I mean I could air grievances and say the only thing that made Glom remotely capable was Shuyin and Xiel joining it... Don't keep reading if you are easily insulted and the rest are just groupies that got a free ride by competent fighters, using at the time the most synergistic skills in the game, (I say 'at the time' cause it may come to pass that the new orgs meet or beat that statement) and the more recent people are nothing more than spoiled brats that haven't had to work at anything ever.

The offer was never withdrawn, so yes. You never responded though tongue.gif
Unknown2010-07-05 22:57:08
I feel like if I never respond, it has to remain open indefinitely, also I keep it saved because it consoles me whenever I have to cry myself to sleep at night for being underappreciated.

Edit: But ok, that was a fun chat. I liked Akui's post. The end.

Are you referring to censor.gif back then, or censor.gif right now? Because honestly, with Celest still in one of its downswings, there's not a whole lot to be worried about. All we've done is put a trade ban in place and Gaudi can't seriously be hurting that much because Celest isn't trading with it. mellow.gif

Who is Celest?
