Hmm. Not meaning to sound, well, mean, but I can think of maybe one concession that can be made if Serenwilde weren't opposed to biting the bullet to cease all the raiding which I think can be handled by the Glomdoring government. Then again, I don't know how open people would be to complete subjugation by a foreign entity, but, say, unenemying procedures to institute shrines in place of the current pantheon could be interesting.
Of course, this is all just idealised in my mind but it would go something like:
Seren asks for reprieve -> Glom asks what offer -> Seren says full conquest -> Glom says k, unenemy and we remove your shrines/put up shrines of our own -> Seren goes under as part of Glom's territory.
Then it'd open up all sorts of possibility for a hidden rebellion and whatnot! Though, I honestly doubt it might ever happen, but it's one avenue that could happen and would stop Glom raids since then it'd be technically raiding our own property, but still...
-ponder- High level of skepticism and speculation goes here, but maybe some other ideas can get flowing.
Edit: Or what Shuyin put up there^. I got ninja'd

If this happens I quit the game. And I think a lot of people would go with me. So no, that's not a reasonable thing to offer. The game just doesn't work that way.

(Which is largely why I'm expecting Denust to be crushed utterly at some point, but who knows.)
Between Imperian and Aetolia, I've dealt with much worse than this. And Imperian has a far more venomous forum community.
And Xiel, that suggestion goes beyond griefing. That's pretty much kicking Seren so hard in the 'nads that it'll never recover. I'm pretty sure the Divine wouldn't ever allow it.
EDIT: Ninja'd by Sylphas.

Xiel's idea is pretty dumb and even I wouldn't want to make that sort of concession myself. Too much work.
Personally, all I'd want is that public post because it accomplishes all that's needed (ICly): SW acknowledges they lose, Glom is better.
Maybe if they're feeling extra generous, reprieves (literal. i.e. brand person ally) for the conquering nation and free access to wander (but not kill or douche on) SW and its territories.

Did note the doubt it'd ever happen! Though I'm kinda hoping the idea would spur some other thoughts to the current situation. -optimist-

Lusternia the new Risk.
If an org is pushing that far into being bastardly that that is the the only way they will back down there are serious issues. I am sure the reasonable people of Glomdoring can see that though.

ICly, too - Maylea/Lisaera would flip out if we ever let that happen, and even if the players behind them wanted to give people a break, their RP kinda obligates them to tell Seren to get the hell out there and take more hits.

Given the nature of raids, nobody in Seren can actually trust any Glom player to maintain this side of the bargain. Probably wouldn't even trust Glomdoring's government with it, at all.

Any org fully surrendering is just a bad idea.
Its not about swallowing pride, or stroking egos, or whatever else. It's about a combatant population that has become so skewed that the very lopsidedness itself provides a disincentive to play on the "down" side.
Lets say Seren surrendered utterly, and all of glom got to sit at the nexus and shout "fai'glomdoring" or whatever. Lets say the admin played along and wyrded the avatars, and subjugated Hart to Crows lunch, and generally let seren become a conquored vassal state.
Would that change anything? Would the fighters in the super-clot break apart and go to Seren? I cannot imagine that they would. It wouldn't be anything but, at best, a temporary reprive (because, eventually, fighters will get bored again), and a, lets face it, completely undeeded feather-in-the-cap of a big wad of players currently smashing a much smaller wad.

What. I've been plenty nice.
Unknown2010-07-11 23:25:13
Hey now, all I've made are hypotheticals in the way of 'how can we stop getting griefed'. Certainly surrender is the one and obvious option, so I decided to cover that. SW could try and sway Halli and Celest to fight Glom as well and get back to the good old days of Everyone Against Glom.
I am well aware of the fact that surrender is pretty impossible to RP because of divine repurcussion, e-pride, and OOC bitterness, so I apologize for taking the conversation that way, which really wasn't my intent.

Even if this works for you, unless, say, you and xiel and whoever migrated back there or something? What's their incentive? I know you have a lot of pull, but its going to be a temporary reprive at best. In X amount of time, the "victory effect" will have worn off for a lot of people, and they'd be right back where they are now, minus one more pride-tooth.
Sylphas2010-07-11 23:29:52
We can't lose. We simply mechanically and sociologically can't. If we remove every Glom from every one of our enemy lists and give you full access, what happens then? You get bored and hit Gaudiguch, and we help out? Then you pound us more. Or we sit and do nothing. If someone decides to be a douche and kills all of our denizens, we can't respond, because we'll just get beat down again, so we sit and do nothing. That outcome is not healthy for the game at all, because it means Serenwilde doesn't ever recover. Even winning is only fun for so long before you get bored because you lost your punching bag.

Ok!
How about that fraud of a pyromancy special report? Can we has fixed mages please? Make burn levels attainable?
I mean, obviously the old thing was out of control, but I don't think its too much to ask to have an accessible kill like aeros now have.

Fail piloting is fail. Why would anyone try to outrun a dragon when you have three shockwaves just sitting there for you?

I don't know if we have the resources to do more special reports - I know Estarra's already looking at a redesign of the commodity system, the endgame stuff is being finished up, cults are being finished.
Their envoy would need to ask after one, though.

Here is a topic change.
Illuminati need to be able to recall their ents.
Fangs is a worthless skill.
Sing should be beckon not sleep, since we have no sleep attrition and can't combine it with hexes cause it doesn't have its own balance.
Ribbachi has been bugged since day 1 of Illuminati as not being cloaked. A 'spy' that can be seen on look is not much of a spy.
Gauntlets are still bugged as far as anyone can tell.
Spix firing on 20 second intervals means nobody other than the sheer stupid will ever get transfixed. Stop worrying about passive transfix people. Seriously.
Sludgeworm is only good if the person happens to run away, most of the time it is a wasted attack though.
Morrible's affliction rate sucks as it seems to repeat the same two afflictions over and over and over and over and it has yet to get someone higher than slight insanity.
I am sure others have more, but that's a start.
