Just to make it clear, editing is not fine. I think Casilu let you off this time, but you should probably refrain from doing it again. Double-post with the correction if you have to.
Shiri2009-06-26 12:26:04
The main reason you're not supposed to edit posts is so you can't change any scummy-looking reasoning if you noticed you made it; you have to deal with the consequences and try to explain it away. The rule is general to save everyone a lot of hassle, but there is room for forgiveness for a first-time player editing bold tags in so his vote counts.

Just don't do it again.
Siam2009-06-26 12:40:29
Thank you smile.gif

I won't do it again, ever.

I don't get it. How does that make him more suspicious, especially since we haven't, either conclusively or otherwise, cleared Myrkr as either town or scum yet?

QUOTE (Zynna @ Jun 26 2009, 10:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If anything, that should have pushed them ahead of your list, past Siam. What Myrkr did (putting aside for the moment whether she knew what she was doing) was not normal behavior and certainly suspicious! Attempting a ninja lynch on day one? So their votes make sense.

There is -zero- reason for scum to be not jumping on the bandwagon on day one. Town would be more cautious in placing their votes.

Ahem, is the editing really fine? wtf.gif You made your point very clearly by capitalizing a word or two.
The 'bigger people' don't seem to think of it as something that merits a modkill and should they believe otherwise, they would've called for a modkill several pages and posts ago, so why point it out?

Regarding the bandwagon thing, you can tell from my posts that I was a little edgy and a bit excited as to how things would work out and looking back now, they were really rather poor decisions, given that the game (as how I see it) is supposed to be about keen observation, a bit of trusting your gut feelings, and subsequently making a decision. Having thus realized this now as I write this, I'll be refraining from joining the bandwagon and try to see how things are, and hopefully, I get to enjoy and make the most out of this first Mafia game more than I do currently!

Me pointing out that you edited way back in the first post was just a "oh hey look at that", it wasn't my basis in voting you. And I said the editing was fine (at least in this case) since you were very defensive about your editing in the previous post.

And please stop throwing in the "this is my first game", it's getting old.

Unless it was on one of their own...then there would be plenty of reason!

Your argument isn't making sense to me, as it seems to be implying that town should never vote for someone that already has some votes on them -- even though (1) that's the only way town can lynch someone, and (2) as mentioned, this is a big group and it's going to take a lot of people voting for the same person to get someone lynched today and Myrkr was never close to being in danger of an imminent lynch. Even using caution, it is perfectly justifiable to vote for someone who just attempted a ninja kill so early in the day.

You are giving off lots of scum vibes! My vote is staying put.

And now, off to work for me.

Why would town necessarily be more cautious? Townies have no information on who is scum and who is not barring mason knowledge, so the only way the collective town can obtain more information is to pressure with votes. On the other hand, scum know who their fellow scum are - they're more likely to be more cautious about who and how they're voting, since they wouldn't want to leave an obvious trail (whether they do or not is another matter altogether).

Vote: Solanis
Kiradawea2009-06-26 13:50:48
What? Solanis' reasoning is just fine. He's saying that scum would gladly jump on early bandwagons. It gets someone lynched and too many questions aren't asked. You would have to reach pretty far to change his statement into what you make it out to be.
Llandros2009-06-26 14:34:23
Xavius made a decent defense but he still seems scummy to me.
Solanis is scumtastic but could very well be town.
Myrkr is Myrkr, and trying to rationalize that one out is on par with flipping a coin.
Bali is giving me mixed signals, some scummy, some not but generally acting like he normally does but like after eating lots of sugar.

If i could vote for two it would be Xavius and Solanis but they both are about the same level of suspiscious for me so I guess I'll leave my vote where it is. People who have not voted, aside from randomly, or who who have not weighed in yet need to get off their butts or we'll be on day one forever.
Daganev2009-06-26 15:08:10
If somebody isn't finding anyone on the list of suspects suspicious, then feel free to bring up other people who you think are. Or even vote for them!

Just because we have 4 names, doesn't mean that 1 of them is definitly scum.

Though I still don't like Solanis. He seems to know that Myrkr is innocent for some reason. Thats the only way his logic makes sense. And he shouldn't -know- that.

Even though he defended me indirectly (His logic - which is sound - applies to anyone, really) he does give me an itch, too. I keep going over all the posts trying to figure out why that is, but I can't provide any real evidence why, though your comment there is plausible.

I still find Xavius suspicious, as well as Bali and Myrkr, I think I'm going to move to the Solanis train. The arguments made for it make sense to me.

Vote Solanis.

What's the vote count now?
Rika2009-06-26 21:24:59
Was that Solanis trying to deflect the attention onto Siam?

What's the current vote count?
Casilu2009-06-26 21:43:13
Kiriwe 1 - Kira

Solanis was posting things like "I don't have anything to add to what has been said."
Ayisdra2009-06-26 22:17:48
and the fact he defended Myrkr about things that he 'shouldn't' know.
Diamondais2009-06-26 22:47:35
I think after thinking on it, I'm going to Vote: Solanis

I don't remember his defending of Myrkr, but if it did happen than all the more fuel to the fire.

It really did seem like he was attempting to deflect, and I dislike the argument about scum and bandwagoning. Not all scum bandwagon, bandwagoning makes you noticeable and they might switch it up so it seems like they're under the radar.

Vote: Solanis

I am shamelessly bandwagoning for a claim
Shamarah2009-06-26 22:50:43
I agree about Solanis acting odd and will join that bandwagon with a Vote: Solanis.

All aboard!

Alright then. For the reasons I previously stated, and the fact that Furien's favourite number being 13 is forgivable -
