Oh and you didn't just deflect attention to me, you deflected it to allergic as well. I'm not defending him, too. Just pointing out another deflection attempt.

Where have you been?
Where have you been?
I went to bed early last night! You all are busy in my nighttime hours!
Siam2009-06-30 14:20:26
Also, I'd like to point out that allergic has noted your attempts at deflection Shiri.
Shiri2009-06-30 14:22:19
Siam, you make it sound as though defending Solanis and voting for you are opposites or something? I've voted you for the same reason as I voted Konton and Allergic - I didn't hear a lot of insight coming from you which we can trace back later in case it's wrong.
I'm not "deflecting attention" from him, that's terrible. I'm trying to explain why I think he's likely to be telling the truth, and going over the scenarios with people. Deflecting attention would be if I started completely ignoring the subject and attacking someone else as scummy - but until I know for sure if Solanis is town the scummiest person around who isn't also blatantly lurking is Balizar, and I can wait to go after him after Solanis eventually dies, so I'm just taking it out on the quiet people for now.

I'd like to see Solanis reply to this:

Lie A assumes that Silferras didn't attempt to kill you. Or did I miss the post that proved he did? I'll have to look back.
Also, would you have been protected if he had tried to day kill you? I was under the impression the doctor PM'd protection choice when night started, so before that, everyone is unprotected by doctors. Can someone clarify that for me?
I'll concede that lie b doesn't work in your favour as well. Maybe you were trying to get pull our heartstrings by the noble self sacrifice! Anyhow, I'll give you that point.
It does seem like a big risk to put yourself out there as the doctor on the first day, and then not protect YOURSELF that night if you have the ability to. Because I'm honestly confused as why you wouldn't be the number one target for mafia, unless maybe they figured you were going to protect yourself, and didn't want to waste their kill votes.

Although it might sound like that, I did not mean it to be that way. I merely cited that as an example of:
1. You defend/give reasons why Solanis is likely telling the truth, then:
2. Voting for people who have fewer posts.
Also, I won't pretend that I am/was a source of insight in the first few pages.

Ok...then yes, that is not only something I am admitting to do, but something I am CLAIMING to do. And it's not just fewer posts, the content of those posts is important too (thus unvoting allergic.)1. You defend/give reasons why Solanis is likely telling the truth, then:

I think I'm going to change my FOS to a vote here. There is, of course, still doubt on a lot of things - if there wasn't, I can't imagine this would be a very fun game concept. But all and all, I propose voting this way will reach one of these outcomes: (This format is for displayname. ) Also, this is longish, but I'm thinking out loud. I WANT people to point out bad crap with my line of thinking if they have something. I just need to write this out so it makes sense to me.
- Solanis gets lynched and turns out to be the doctor.
-We are now short a doctor, but may garner some useful information from his death. Whether that information will be valuable or essential to future decisions remains unknown.
- Solanis gets lynched and is not a doctor, but scum.
-If he is not a doctor, I don't see him being just a townie. I can't imagine why a townie would lie about being a doctor to paint themselves as a target.
- Solanis gets lynched and is not a doctor, but is a jester.
-This would be a reason to role claim being a doctor day one. If the mafia suspected it, it might also be a reason why they chose not to vote kill him last night. However, I'm deferring to the opinions of more experienced players who generally conceded that there probably was no jester.
- Solanis does not get lynched, and is a doctor.
-If Solanis does not get lynched, we have almost have to consider him good as dead anyway. I'm not sure why he's not dead already, but if his claim is true, the mafia knows he's a doctor. I don't see how he could live unless he shielded himself every night, which means he's not performing his role anyhow.
- Solanis does not get lynched, and is not a doctor.
-If he is not a doctor, I have to believe he scum. So he won't die tomorrow after the night, either, probably, but him not dying still doesn't prove or disprove his claim. We will end up trying to decide on him again.

Thank you for using the bullet format! Now, I won't slam headlong into a wall of text.

Scenario D is wrong because he can THREATEN to protect himself. The mafia can't afford to keep trying kills on him until he gives up. Moreover he's never actually confirmed so people will just keep bringing him up until he's dead, same as scenario E.
Scenario C may well be true but unfortunately we have to play as though it isn't.

That's true, and a good point I didn't think about.
So then:
- Solanis does not get lynched, and is a doctor.
- He then protects himself for the remainder of the game. We all die, but then he votes lynch on the last remaining person (Who should be mafia if the game didn't end) and the town wins.
OR
- Solanis does not get lynched, and is not a doctor.
- But since we believe him, we keep not lynch voting him, eventually it will be him and another person who would both be scum, and one townie. The townie votes to lynch other guy, then (Since Solanis is not town) night round comes, Solanis nightkills townie.
- Townie could hit the 25% resist or have another resist power, then Solanis gets lynched the next day, but that's a scary, scary game of chance!
