I was completely failing to defend EtherGlom earlier and while praying for salvation the second time I got an idea for a great new combat mechanic. Allow any player to conjure a set of scales that are linked directly to their bank account, and direct attacks at their enemies using the pure, unadulturated power of cash. The more money you stack up on the scale relative to your opponent, the more damage and afflictions are dealt per second. In the $5-10 range it's a pretty minor benefit, but at $20 it will be like having your own portable demesne. For $100 you can instantly kill anyone, though there's surcharges against liches, demigods, etc. and Thoros won't fall to anything less than $1000. Of course this payment is not a one-off thing, but rather must be renewed with each new engagement. I feel like this would add a lot of clarity and transparency to Lusternia's combat without actually altering the balance of power at all. Also, a throne of solid gold may be just what Estarra needs to motivate her to get to work on the lost cities, so everybody wins in this equation.

Oh damn it... someone move this to the ideas forum please. :P

And this won't be fair... It would make everything extremely OP, and you should have just made a game where paying is required... It doesn't make it fair...

I thought this idea was already implemented.

You really take all the fun out of things.

I'm fairly sure Azoth is just hugely butthurt and he's trying to troll... badly.

If you want trolling lessons, talk to me!
But my trolling is only effective, or at least my abilities only come out, against other trolls...

What you do is curiously distinct from, and far more horrible, than mere trolling. Anyway, with the recent outlawing of complaining on the forums I figured this was a more acceptable way to register my displeasure.

It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.

I suppose for someone as rich as ... say Richter, he gets to delete characters of his choice.
Veyrzhul2009-07-18 13:08:53
This may have been funny if it didn't sound so utterly bitter and probably rather insulting in Estarra's case. Why not vent to your in game friends on a clan or maybe curse at someone in tells and be done with it?

That's a mighty slender hair you're splitting there.

Estarra gave me that ability years ago. The last time my son, Verithrax, backtalked me, I deleted him. Guido too.

Psh, I'm not friends with anybody here :P When the idiots forum closed it was like losing a dear family member.
Kiradawea2009-07-18 22:30:17
I thought we already had this mechanic in place.
