though I can't figure out what a PO is, anybody know?
btw, did Rika just admit to lurking on purpose here or did I missread it?

@Silferras: No, I have nothing to comment about what had gone on. Ie. Furien claiming. Anything I would have said had already been said. What's going to stop people from jumping on me for just repeating what other people have said? Then the attention went back to me. I then made my post about that, because I could actually contribute to the discussion.
Daganev2009-07-28 15:45:42
before I start voting for Furien again, as the reporter evidence is pretty damning, Furien, can you tell us your name and how you are connected to your card?
Ilyarin2009-07-28 15:52:47
Police officer? So cop. That's a guess! Also, why are you voting for Furien again? It seems almost unanimously agreed to wait until tomorrow to lynch him.
Ilyarin2009-07-28 15:53:23
Ignoring the fact you're demanding more info from him.
Unknown2009-07-28 16:27:41
I think it's because of this:
Alternately, a reporter works exactly like a PO except that they can publish their results at any time, giving all players an anonymous tip towards the role of any specific player. This variant is self-aligned and wins when all other power-roles are dead, including such things as town bodyguards and mafia alike.
The reasoning to take him out now would be that he can only win if everyone with a power dies - which includes the townies, so better to kill him now instead of waiting until later.

I thought that too, but there isn't any role on the wiki site with that name.
I'm sure they wouldn't use an acronym like that if it's not commonly used.
There is a risk that Furien is a brand of SK and not just a pure investigator. If he gave us his name, it should be pretty easy for us to figure that out.
Daganev2009-07-28 16:37:58
maybe it's supposed to be OP for Original post?
Daganev2009-07-28 16:39:41
wait no, that makes no sense... bugger
Unknown2009-07-28 17:06:33
The reporter business seems pretty solid, would explain why he didn't give a name, only powers. I don't think Rika was admitting to lurking so much as saying that she has nothing to say on the matter (up until she was accursed, at which point she did have something to say). Though I suppose that -is- lurking, in a manner. But then there are a few others who haven't said much beyond agreeing with others. I'm waiting on Furien to explain further, MORE TWIDDLING AWAY.
Dugan2009-07-28 18:15:42
Well, I really don't believe Furien with all of his claim, but I figure we can wait the day or two for it to be verified. I also tend to believe Dag. So far in this game, he hasn't really done anything non-Dag.

I always have a scum vibe no matter what I do, Dag alway acts the same no matter what. I still say he acted nervous earlier and bears watching.

And that is a good thing Shad, not saying its not. What you see and what I see are not the same ... you may pick up on something that I don't and vice-versa. Post it, share it. Lets get a discussion on it. I find it interesting though that we have 22 people playing and so far all people have done is focused on Furien and Dag. Its day 1. Day 1 always sucks.

Anyone's opinion on the power itself is irrelevant. He claims it will get mod confirmed. It happens or it doesn't.
What's listed in MafiaWiki could just as easily be made into a town role, so I suppose we're back to the original plan - Furien does his thing, hopefully we have another investigator who can help verify at least alignment, and we sort it out on day two.
Zynna2009-07-28 18:34:55
The problem is that if Furien does indeed have the same win condition as the reporter listed in mafiascum, we can't trust him. Yes, we will get pamphlets, but that won't clear him. If he happens to investigate someone who is scum, yes, he'd help us get rid of him, since he wants to get rid of scum too. BUT, he'll also try to get rid of a townie power role if he happens to come across one of them.
And while we might have someone who can check the win conditions of people, I'm not sure that we would want that person to come on Day 2 anyway.

While this is true, who Furien claims to be in his role should be able to give us some indication of which side he is on.
Lets say it claimed to be clark kent, well then we can probably trust his reporting to be on the side of good and we continue with our plan.
However, if he claimed to be a the evil reporter of death, then we could probably figure out that he isn't one of us and should be lynched.

I do agree with waiting to see about Furien. If the pamphlet comes out then perhaps we should keep him. It would help us out possibly, since if things go wrong he'd be dead and we'd have someone to lynch. Two for one of sorts ya?
I'm kind of in Rika's boat of "not posting due to nothing to say" seeing as the few times I have I didn't post anything new and did newbie mistakes. *shrug* I do keep a eye on the thread so I can get an idea of what other people are thinking and hopefully formulated an opinion.

Well, the reason people want you to post more is so that you -do- make mistakes. That is, if scum never posts, scum's harder to find. AFRAID OF MAKING MISTAKES? Hrm, hrm, hrm.

Sarvasti already made the random name claim out of no where mistake. Being a little gun shy is to be expected. Being too gun shy will likely get you lynched though.

I'm more interested in Rika at the moment. Her behaviour concerns me more than a Yuki Nagato.
