Well, if you want to look at the intended meaning of the card, there is a bit of a connection:

"With Mars as its ruling planet, the Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower, as Wang points out, stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." When the Querent gets this card, they can expect to be shaken up, to be blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built."

I think I may have just found a bit of a use for my power. Unless I just get nightkilled. And I probably will. And that will suck.
Daganev2009-07-28 22:39:12
Why do I get the "trying too hard" feeling?
Gah, I really wanted to just focus on the lurkers, but this is getting frustrating.

The strange thing about all this is that we weren't anywhere close to lynching anybody.

Maybe forming trains on people that disagree with you isn't such a bright idea, then.

Excellent... though there's still a matter of deadline. Hmm... to instate deadline or not, that is the question.

The tower makes sense. The tower is supposed to be a card about downfall and ruin and that was the intentions of the White Rose, the downfall of Nazi Germany. Also remember that these are tarot cards and their meaning and connections can be twisted around twenty ways to sunday.

Now, I'm going to say we should lynch Furien because if I am reading that skill that it is a huge libility. A pamphlet will either be sent out to everyone, not just town but everyone. In other words scum will also be given this information. And if Furien goes to try and induct people there is a good chance scum will get inducted and kill furien or the information gets out to townies who can't play right and let it slip out that they are town with extra info and we start losing them to the mafia.

Slow down, there. I can't do a game-wide pamphlet in the same turn as my recruiting someone. In order for me to actually be a threat we'd have to be around day 5, and what do you mean by 'extra info'? I don't find out anything about their role, at all. All I learn is that they're pro-town via my success or scum through my death.

You know, now that I think about it, you could have a watcher see who I target every night if you -really- wanted to know that I caught scum.

(No, that is not intended to say 'Watcher please roleclaim now', just throwing an idea out there.)

Hmm, then I'm thinking if you end up sticking around you'll be far better off using your role to recruit then a game wide pamphlet. Just my opinion though. I'm getting the idea the roles in this game are going to be weird.

Odd comments by Othero, but odd comments are better than no comments:

Vote Solanis... pressure the lurkers!

Oh, and no offense Furien, but I think on day 4 we should definitely lynch Furien incase he is an actual cult and not a mason farm.
Unknown2009-07-28 23:03:23
I'm mostly trying to think of ways furien's role is useful and harmful. Maybe as time goes I'll see how it has some use.
Vote:Solanis I guess I will see where this goes.
Furien2009-07-28 23:03:47
Well..whatever floats your boat, I might end up dead by then anyways.
Unknown2009-07-28 23:04:08
An attempt to stop lurking. I believe Furien, and the role can become useful as long as we don't get messed up with nightkills and stuff (which probably will happen but anyway).

This post's reasoning sucks.

1. Scum ALREADY KNOW who they are, they don't gain from the information that "this person" is town.
2. There is a good chance Furien might just target scum night one and die. I don't understand how that is a reason why we should lynch Furien. Why waste a lynch? No lynch would be better.
3. "Townies who can't play right": Well. If we lose them to mafia, we're not losing the skilled town players right? The people in Furien's group wouldn't out themselves unless Furien died anyway.

Oh, and. It's not a mason farm, right? Furien's pamphlet doesn't say (right?) anything except who he targeted. So not really masons.

My pamphlet says whatever I want it to, same with the morning broadcast if I choose to use it.

Yeah. No. I have a four day lifespan, possibly shorter, and I'm going to try and use it on people that are more useful.

If we have a Watcher available, I invite you to watch me and see who I target in the case that I die. If there's a doctor that's willing to risk protecting me, I'd ask that too. When the Watcher finds a scum and reveals it, just switch your protection unless something up.

Just an idea, if you don't believe me just do what you want, it'll at least keep the scum guessing.
Furien2009-07-28 23:19:41
'finds a scum and reveals it' meaning they know who I targetted on my death, and that was also supposed to be 'unless something else comes up'. Typos. sad.gif
