OMG, if the power had been reasonable / along the lines of the other side of the quest, there would be no complaining!
Again, as should have been obvious, this was not the other wide of the quest, but the culmination of the Demon Lords' secret plot!

I don't think it was. At all. Seriously guys, realize that if Magnagora and Celest lost that sort of power we would be pissed. Don't play the idiotic forum game. If we lost that power we would complain about it. We complained about the event when we were losing and we never lost that sort of power. Don't be a idiot, this is just a stupid event.
EXACTLY!

Well in that case, I think the Admin should take a good hard look at this quest. Clearly both sides are unhappy with it, in a big way. Not the fighting or the curb stomping that's taken place, but the massive power loss associated with it.
I propose we remove -every- aspect of this game except bashing.
Shiri2009-07-30 03:22:15
I realise we have Magnagorans being reasonable in here, but it is interesting that there aren't any Celestians being unreasonable (unless I missed it.) Xavius' "only in Mag" thing seems to hold!

So basically the Communes were going to lose a huge chunk of power from the start and there was nothing they could do about it?
Sounds kind of fishy.
At least Narsrim and all the people that complained about forced events will get behind Glom's plight too!
Gregori2009-07-30 03:22:57
250k power is a retarded amount, culmination of secret plot or not.
125k is rl months of work to get back, for what? A 5am raid that was undefendable because Greater Pentagram + monolith sigil compltely shuts you out of a room.
Hey, good thing those city folk don't need to worry about Commune people being able to flow to them anymore when they Great Pent.

I'll be happy if the event forces us to become concerned about nature in all of the planes. Maeve is supposed to be intrinsically connected to it all, right? Tainting her should be bad for nature everywhere, right?
And yea, boo 125k.

We actually never thought to see the Xion Initiative performed this soon. Say what you will, you gotta give the cities credit for their persistence against seemingly high odds.

From a RP view I hope it does. I want to see the forests start to become tainted as the Fae do.

They weren't that high...Mag's had an even worse combatant clot than Glomdoring lately.

Again, the event isn't over so you are jumping to conclusions that there isn't a way that communes aren't going to recoup part of that loss.
I guess we could retroactively change the amounts if everyone wants us to, but let's see how things play out, yes?
Aerotan2009-07-30 03:26:33
I'd like to note, for the record, that the Xion initiative party was pretty much wiped at least twice before we were able to kill Luna. To head off the "no defenders" argument. And even in Celest this is far from over. 125K might be a bit much, but it worked to open eyes, get people off their tails, etc.. And even many in Celest are unsure about just LETTING the DLs have Faethorn.
So, yeah. This event is brought to you by the letter pain, and the number 125k, and was sponsored by IRE in an attempt to RESURGEM PLAYERBASE. It seems it's working.

Ahh, I think we all fully understand that and this really has the potential to be a very cool event.
The powerloss from it just left us a little speechless is all, it also caused a fair amount of anger amongst your playerbase because it makes every other single powerdrain look rather pathetic in comparison. Its done now though, your post has probably gone a long way towards mollifying people although you're still going to have a fair amount of resentment at this event floating around for a few days. I'm happy, I just wanted my dislike of the insane power drain known and that has been achieved.

The odds weren't that high. Sooner or late, as history has shown over and over and over, the people on the bottom work their way to the top. Mag had one heck of a zerg.
Which is amusing to me. I used to hear so much complaining about zergs being boring and pointless, and Mags not understanding why people did them. Now you know!

I just think the power is an insane amount and that no one can do a loss that large back to Magnagora is just unjustifiable.

And Kinson for refusing to give the nut two days ago (or whoever that Seren GM is that refused to do anything without Asmodea), and Serenwilde for choosing not to raid Celestia last night... heh. The cities took advantage of a hole in the Hai'Gloh, good for them. It was about time.
My only issue is this power thing. In the past when we've been told "Hey, don't worry, things will turn around later in the event!" it does not actually happen that way (often, it's a small gesture)... so I would like to request that you take a look at it again and ensure that it isn't a sop, as that's going to just exacerbate the matter. :/

oh now now. just cause some people are getting a good laugh dont mean people are mags rl shiri. i thought it was funny when mags would get beat down when i was in seren too. no one ever said ONLY IN SERENWILDE that i can recall.

It wasn't "seemingly high odds". It was the culmination of doing things like "Oh. We're nerfing Flow to not work in GreaterPent." amidst other actions that allowed cities to do this period. Considering also that Glomdoring nor Serenwilde had any defenders to speak of during another, shocker, early morning raid speaks for itself too.
Unknown2009-07-30 03:28:23
I'm sure this means that there is an event possible where Glom/Seren can drain similar amounts of power. Anywho, in a week, you'll all be going about your way, handling your gold and punching them Harmony spheres, so whatever.

It's held since the day Daevos lost control of Magnagora, many moons ago. This is not new!
