4 AM EST.
1 AM PST, which is where a lot of Lusternians are, which is where the office of IRE is located. I was there when this all went down, and it wasn't like "man, these guys are sure taking advantage of things" it was more like "oh, nice, right before I go to bed something interesting happens".
Also, now that Estarra has said that there might be a way to get it back, and that the event isn't over, you know people in game are going, "Well, we still might have a way to get it back, and I bet it isn't over".

I'm thinking now is the time Glom may want to try and trade Nyir back in for that power
Nah, still solidly above 1 million.

In general, we've all got raped in some point and time in the Lusternia history, just this time you guys got ultra griefed for being jerks and turning on Celest, more than twice I believe.
Moral of the story. It's a game, but like real life, if you're a jerk, you get b**** slapped

Just a note to whoever said 125K power is RL months of work...
Glom was generating 10K power every RL day before I left.
I was there for both rituals and laughed each time I heard the power effected, I know that this tainted faethorn thing will be countered and at least some power coming back because we all know communes cant live if they cant get an ascendant or two every few months right?
Now quiet down, go play, and wait for things to finish. ANd yes I was in glom when we were raping magnagora!

It's like...1. I don't think it'll add up to 125k any time soon. All the Xion/elemental (flux gg)/ethereal lockdown is a bit much though.
I'm trying to be quiet since I wasn't especially happy on an unnamed OOC clan, but I think Estarra has more faith in the ability for a counterquest to be done than the room for that possibility exists. Magnagora have quite a decent spread of players across all times, especially off-peak and they have shown a tendency to camp at important places (ie faethorn and elemental planes and checking on xion alot) relentlessly, as well as kill people who even turn up to look.
I'm not saying they can't, it is Magnagoran rp to do so, but they will, which may seriously hinder attempts to get back what was lost.
Estarra2009-07-30 05:03:52
I think I should clarify since people may be misunderstanding. There are two separate things going on.
1) The enthralled Maeve is not the result of the Xion Initiative. That is the result of the Demon Lord plot. Therefore, doing the hai'Gloh rite will not change Maeve's status. It should be obvious by now how to free Maeve. Edit: The Demon Lord plot was also responsible for the massive power drain--again, not necessarily having anything to do with the Xion Initiative itself.
2) The Xion Initiative will remain for 6 game months. Freeing Maeve will not make it go away any sooner. For that, you would need to do the hai'Gloh rite.
Hope that clears things up!

Not sure how it's obvious. We haven't learned anything thus far indicating a solution.

If it's as straight forward as I think it is, we can't do it for at least a couple RL days.

Hrm, well, apparently some people have but aren't sharing any information! Maybe keep an eye on the powerlogs and see what looks unusual.

Does anyone else realize that we have the perfect excuse to get rid of the most annoying NPC in the game right now?

Do it. I will totally get behind Gorgulu eating Maeve for good, even if that gives Gorgulu indigestion and makes him vomit up all over everything and do bad stuff to Mag. It would be cool to watch.

They already thought of that and made her invincible to make sure we couldn't salvage anything from this event.
Estarra2009-07-30 05:16:39
Bah! Read the histories lest you forget how important Maeve actually is and what she represents! You can't kill her without killing off the forest communes... or wait, is that what you... *gulp*
Unknown2009-07-30 05:17:39
Wait. This means Glomdoring -is- tainted. That prooves it!
Furien2009-07-30 05:18:00
oh lol
Edit: Hey, didn't we learn from the advent of Narsrim complaining that Maeve's death actually does absolutely nothing to harm the fae outside of emotional distress?

You can't Taint Glomdoring, false memory says so.
