Also, this Human heritage thing does allow for deviation in terms of appearance, yes. What it doesn't allow for is a Faeling chopping off their arm and replacing it with a Tae'Dae's arm; that also doesn't make much sense, heh. Such aberrations should be fixed by the Portal of Fate / death and reforming your body. Just like if all 4 limbs and your head are chopped off, they are magically reattached afterwards.
