So many descriptions I see are redolent of Mary Sue Syndrome... striking eyes ("piercing" is actually the poster child for this), incomparable beauty, various amazing unique features, and of course forcing judgments on the viewer.

It hurts me! It hurts!

This is why I usually partially or completely omit describing most facial features(except eyes), opting to just give the person a visual concept of what the character looks/seems like. Also I make sure to throw in one weird/ugly thing for intrigue.

EDIT: I also find it funny that TV Tropes considers purple and white typical in most Mary Sue.

Aw, I like purple...

Though admittedly, none of my characters are purple or have purple on them. Xaakin's got an "opalescent" body, so his neutral shade (when he's not all swirly and colourful from his emotions) is milky white with flecks of other colours. I don't think it's sue-ish just to have "white" though. That's kind of vague.

I am prone to creating Perfect Princessâ„¢ characters. I should try something out of the box for once. There's something that interests me about strong females though.

My first character in Achaea (my first MUD character ever, actually) was a female Atavian who wanted people to see her as a male. She would be thrilled if she could move over to Lusternia, where genderbending is perfectly normal. I'd like to think that she was a strong female character, because she always tried to hold herself to higher standards than what she saw from most women.

For future reference, when playing alts, please take the time to distinguish between each alt. Usually I'm pretty good but there is the occasional:

(Magnagora): You say, "Farewell, Celest."
(Magnagora): You say, "Erm."
(Magnagora): You say, "Oh."
(Magnagora): You say, "Well now. Nothing to see here."
