If believing "Babe" is the best movie ever is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Effervescent whispers dance through your senses, filling your mind with the soft, feathery voice of Viravain as Her voice carries on the winds, "If you are all that interested in aetherspace, the next person that shouts will get a trip there without the benefit of an aethercraft."
A whistling sound fills the air as a wickedly curved scythe whirls by high overhead at incredible speed.
Destridas has been seared to death by the divine flame of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns.
You see the death occur at Surrounded by shimmering webs.
Effervescent whispers dance through your senses, filling your mind with the soft, feathery voice of Viravain as Her voice carries on the winds, "Oops."

The oops was her failure to live up to her threats. Fain would have actually followed up properly.

I can't explain the inner squee I just felt when I saw how you spelt "ya'll" <3
I spent over a year with English teachers spelling it "y'all" and telling me I was wrong for spelling it "y'all"
16 years in Texas, and I don't know a single person who breaks it down like that.
I can trace my family back to when Texas was a country! >_<
/rant
edit: actually, I usually just did "yall", because there's not much of a break, but I went for "ya'll" when I felt I needed to.

Bad news. Y'all is mechanically correct (as far as I know. I dare you to prove me wrong). But ya'll seems like acceptable slang.

I am the same way. I spell it y'all. I argue that it is "you all" not "ya will." Sheesh!

This is correct. But it suggests a pause similar to that found between 'book' and 'case' in the word 'bookcase', when I don't know anyone who actually uses a pause.

I know a lot of people that rattle off Bookcase as Bookace. But then again, most of my friends and family are northerners. We speaka da good english.

No. Apostrophes are not pronounced. The only people who use them to indicate pauses are fantasy and science fiction authors. You pause when you say "you all," you do not pause when you say "y'all." You pause between "can" and "not" but don't pause when you say "can't." If an apostrophe suggested a pause, poets and lyricists would not use the word "o'er" to rhyme things or fit meter. I have no clue what the bookcase example is meant to show, since it's a compound word and not a contraction. It's an example of a long consonant. "Book'ase" is pronounced with a short consonant, so the word without the apostrophe actually has a longer pause in the pronunciation.
