Tad bit exclusive, heh.
Maybe the Shadowdancers should strive to be the Spiritual Leaders of Glomdoring like they're supposed to be and less like a secretive cult. That's the Nekotai's job.
That being said, Night's Secrets, there should always be a secretive upper echelon haughtiness to the SD's imo, it's part of what's defined the guild for some time, but I feel personally as if Glomdoring has changed much in the way we all deal with eachother (Mostly newer people seeming part of that.), but I don't feel like the SD's have necessarily grown or changed to accomodate that for themselves or the org.
I see great potential for the SD's to act as spiritual envoys or guides to the commune in the following of Night, they simply don't seize it.

I have a lecture on the role of the SDs in Glomdoring and as its Spiritual Leaders that I can't wait to do. However, it's really hard to lecture shadows, as much as I love them. I need more Novices or you damn higher ups who are asleep all the time.
I doubt the SD will change to accommodate the recent, numerous changes. We may, but not fully. I believe it will be the forever contradiction of haughtiness and the need to be constantly adapting. Though we adapt, that does not necessarily mean we have changed.
I might have to start advertising SD by putting up rituals we do. I really need more novices, not the ones from Seren that Arix sends me who refer to themselves as 'n00bz'...
And if all else fails, there are still the two fun factions; 'Pro-Nightshades' and 'Anti-Nightshades'.

I have been trying to revive a sense of RP in Celest (The Paladins have a very good grounding, only need a little bit of a nudge to get things going. The Celestines have the most options available for consistent roleplay and I would love to see them use it more often.) but I haven't got long enough left to get anything going at the moment.

You get laughed at if you have any sense of Rp in Glomdoring, unless it happens to be spamming Gbtg. Then you're given favours, sugar cookies, and love.
Not really, you only get laughed at if you're at Master Ravenwood trying to RP in Glomdoring. Or if you're just being an emo and calling it RP. Need I remind you of Sadhira and her haughty lady RP? Myrkr? The whole Nekotai guild? (Seriously, they start from the moment you graduate from the shadowmaze. Earlier, in some cases. I insist on calling anyone lower than GR3 nothing but "Sting" unless they're a transfer. Got in an argument with one once about it.)
Seren is kinda rough for me to get into the RP of because my current Seren alt is one I generally only play in the wee hours of the morning, before anyone's on. I have a Novice who is fully capable of completing both of his initiation rites, except that every time I GW I see "Currently, there are 1 members on this plane, and 0 on others."
And Celest's RP is stil trying to catch up from when Celest itself was in the toilet. It's got a good start, but it's gonna need some TLC to get back to its former glory.

Haven't you learned to ignore Krin like all of us have?

I think Celest is going to have to come to terms with where working with Magnagora is going when it's entire foundation is based on eradicating the Tainted as the cooperation has lasted a long time now. It's a weird limbo for me.

lolwut? I had to reread this a few times, but I finally got what you were getting at. I am curious myself as to how the eventual shift will occur. The Light and the Taint cannot work together forever.

Even Magnagora will if it becomes a long term thing. With the Nifilhema ritual and the need for Celest to do the Xion initiative we could go on about how we are mostly using Celest. But if the alliance stays now that we don't -need- to do either we need to come up with reasons for it. It isn't as if the Supernals and Celests patrons are now pro-taint. They still want to see Mag crushed.

RP dead in Mag? You're obviously not around at the right times. The ninjakari have great RP, imo. Where else can you say "Blessings of the Chain" and call someone Father, Mother, Elder, Brother or Sister and not get looked at funny? I like the whole brethren feel. Although, I think we could use more females. I only know of two right now....
You'd think there would be more females though? What isn't attractive about a girl swinging around a chain while wearing leather

I think a lot of people would agree that many guilds have good or even great RP in themselves. It's commune/city RP that seems to have gone the wayside.

Yeah, internal RP is usually good. But how do the Ninjakari connect to Magnagora? You can say they are a connection to the Illithoid but the illithoid are not terribly important to the city. They are sort of just another slightly connected fighting arm of the city.

We infiltrate other groups for information, sneak into enemy territory undetected, kill people, wear the faces of the dead, use misinformation to achieve our goals. How are we NOT connected to Magnagora.

That sounds like Glom / Nekotai.
Mag tends to be more brutal / obvious (for a historical reference, see: Daevos)

yeah, which sucks because HELP NINJAKARI doesn't describe that at all. Ah well.
