As the group gathers around Renthur and begins throwing accusations at him and brandishing their Spell Cards, his frightened and defensive expression turns to one of anger as thick clouds of purple miasma surround Othero, Shiri and Solanis. Othero suddenly begins to shake and spasm uncontrollably as Shiri and Solanis begin to jaundice and cough blood.
Othero is role-blocked!
Shiri is fatally poisoned!
Solanis is fatally poisoned!
Having had their suspicions confirmed, the remainder of the group leaps into action, blasting Renthur with enough danmaku from all sides to turn him into a blackened spot on the ground...
As the group turns back to try to help Renthur's victims, they are crestfallen to see that the poison has already undergone its course through Shiri and Solanis' bloodstream, and that the two have died crying in each other's arms...

As the group begins preparations to lay the two deceased Shikigami to rest, it is made painfully clear that today's victory has come at a heavy price as the evening fog sets in and the shrine is enveloped in Dusk.

As the midnight hour approaches, sounds of screaming and panic break the silence. Everyone quickly awakens and runs outside to find that the darkness of night has given way to a deep blue haze that hangs heavily over the shrine grounds. The sounds of commotion grow louder, and it is soon determined that they are coming from the Human Village.
The group quickly travels down the road from the shrine to the village and are met with a disturbing sight...
High above the village, the ghostly visage of Mima can be seen hovering, spell circles and a faint glowing aura surrounding her. Below, the residents of the Human Village have been gripped with full-scale panic. The men brandish weapons in an attempt to fight off Mima, but she is far beyond their reach while the women and children hide inside their various homes and buildings. The bemused laughter of Mima rings throughout the village as you see wisps of pure white energy begin to be drawn out from the villagers and absorbed into Mima, her aura growing brighter as she does so.
Several of you leap into action to try to fight off Mima while others attempt to enter the village to help the villagers, but all are unsuccessful as a barrier has surrounded both Mima and the Village, preventing interference.
Yukari then calls for everyone's attention. "If we can't stop Mima directly, then we have to cut out her feet from under her! If we can eliminate one of her followers, we should be able to stop her!"
And so, with the lives of the entire Human Village at stake, Twilight falls upon Gensokyo.
Celina and Vendetta are nowhere to be seen.
