I usually recognize most spell cards from the get-go but 'Flaw of Forgiving Shrine' is definitely not one I've ever heard of.
Furien2009-08-28 01:40:04
Wait nope found it.
Lorick2009-08-28 01:40:36
A quick google search will give you a name. If it is true or not though.. Eh
Furien2009-08-28 01:43:37
Well, if it's true, it opens up some interesting role speculations.
Tekora2009-08-28 01:44:57
Mystic runic patterns encircle Othero and Llandros as a Danmaku Battle begins. Bullets fly fiercely between the two combatants until finally Othero is struck and he falls heavily to the ground, the duel finished, Llandros triumphant.

Othero is now roleblocked until Sunset
Furien2009-08-28 01:46:21
Well, despite there being no flavour text it's safe to assume that the card names were true, so, moment..
Lorick2009-08-28 01:46:44
Quick question, newbie to the lore, is it possible for people to use spell cards normally tied to the characters? Like.. Should Deadly Dance be potentially alarming because the character behind it may have the ability to slay others? Or, could that be an ability any character could possibly use?
Furien2009-08-28 01:49:26
So, if my speculation is right, Llandros is Yuyuko (unsure) and Othero is Mokou (fairly sure).

Yuyuko has the power to 'invoke death in humans' whenever she wants, though she takes the power very seriously, so there's probably a daykill power somewhere in there.

As for Mokou..well, she's immortal. Perhaps she has a rival complex with Kaguya (Highly doubt Othero would ever risk revealing himself like that if so), is a survival role or simply reincarnates a night after death.

Unvote

I kinda sorta know the games, I play them poorly, and I can't think of a reason why a character would be using a spellcard not normally associated in the game. All of mine are associated with my character, I know that much. I'm almost positive each character has their own spellcards.
Lorick2009-08-28 01:50:55
The wiki seemed to suggest that Mokou's powerbase would be more suited for a resser role/survivor. This is suppose to be a power heavy game, so it isn't unreasonible.

Each character has signature spell cards belonging specifically to them. The names can get really flashy- anything from 'Honest Man's Death' to 'Resurrection Butterfly' or 'Icicle Fall' or 'Orreries Sun' or 'Fantasy Heaven'.

It's certainly plausible that spell cards can be used by other people. Marisa pirated Love Coloured Master Spark from Yuka and/or Mima, as an example. And, physically, the cards are just cards with spells written on them and a picture of the particular danmaku pattern (something like that) so they could potentially be physically transferred. However, given my own role fitting with my card, I doubt it.
Lorick2009-08-28 01:51:41
Yeah, all of mine are associated with my character as far as my knowledge of the lore (poor) goes. I was asking in case it wasn't the norm.

As a side note, those of you who play should someday teach me how to play Scarlet Weather Rhapsody.

Old news. Pick up Unthinkable Natural Law. Game expansion, 5 more characters and oodles more skill/spell cards.

I went back to the signup thread, and the intro post that was tl;dr for a lot of people to read.

Basically, Yuka (flower youkai, very strong) came around and blew the Hakurei Shrine up. Somehow, Yuka is connected to the unsealing of Mima, a particularly powerful magician and common villain in the PC-98 games.

So our two main scum targets thus far are Yuka and Mima, and then anyone who may have a connection with them. It's possible that some characters have been corrupted, who knows, we haven't got much to work on aside from two names.
Llandros2009-08-28 02:03:36
First off - Oooohhh! take that Fool! Looks like you couldn't hang with the big dawgs after all!! /trashtalk

I purposely used a card that was the least obvious indicator of my role. Looks like it paid off, for me at least.
I win with the town and have no day or night kill abilities. In fact, if i had any power role i would have declined all together.

I'm highly disinclined to believe that the ghost princess of the netherworld, capable of invoking death at a moment's notice, apparently through summoning an absolute crapstorm of flourescent rainbow butterflies across the screen, has no special power in the context of a Mafia game.

However, this is Touhou, so you never know.
Shaddus2009-08-28 02:06:49
So, those of you who actually know who these people are... anyone else we should watch out for/cards we should be wary of?
Lorick2009-08-28 02:07:00
...I can't say I agree with the above statement. One, a user of the card wouldn't be someone whom most likely would revealed without a power. If anything, I'm calling bs on the statement of no powers.

If he has one I'm thinking day. I decided to do the battle because it gets some info out, it gets out who I am which is important for me, and I don't actually have a power that can be blocked. And I do have a rivalry sort of thing but the way I'm looking at it I am better off having it out there as I am thinking my opposite is going to be scum.
