Essentially, if I recall correctly, Shaddus is most likely Kaguya and Othero's rival. Lets say for example we lynch Furien tonight. If nothing happens then we can assume Shaddus is mafia and lynch. If something happens, then he wasn't mafia and we move on. The mafia can not afford to do nothing, since they need multiple twilights and each day/twilight combo is two lynches for us. If they also choose not to nightkill then we are ahead by one day on them again, and it was worth it in the scheme of things even if we end up lynching Shaddus.

Anyone have any problems with that? If they spend the time framing Shaddus we get a free day to lynch anyways, leading to us down a survivor and back where we would be here but slightly ahead.

My impression was that she 'put forth the idea of leaving a mafia alive' because she thought/speculated it would help net us the main mafia godfather, Mima, or so we thought - who was shown to be a spirit rather than a player only after we lynched Kiradawea. She couldn't have known they were the same (unless you're right and they are scum together and discussed this prior, which I find unlikely).
When you roleblock someone, do you only see who targets them, or who they try targetting as well? If not the latter, keep your eyes off Vendetta tonight and have Aya snoop in on her - if there is a kill and she didn't target anyone, it means she's not scum. If there's no kill, and she didn't target anyone.. Back to square one, unfortunately, but at least we wouldn't have lost a townie. This fails if we have two scum left and Reimu is the lowest level goon, but somehow, that doesn't seem likely to me. It also fails if I read it wrong and it's undetectable by both watching the target AND the killer, which is sick.

I used my Day Roleblock on Vendetta already, so I'm down to no charges. I can do a normal roleblock tomorrow night, but I can't track. I used it since Kira was immune to roleblocks when we attempted to lynch her during the day and I thought since I didn't see anything like that in Mima's pm it was part of Mima's Spirit. However, since those abilities are learned it doesn't really help too much.
Lorick2009-09-17 05:48:08
Also, I only see who was targetting them, since their action itself was blocked. I don't get a reply back about their action, but I do when my roleblock fails to work. Like on Kira, she shook it off and went back to fight everyone.
Lorick2009-09-17 05:49:47
But yeah, I can let off the pressure on Vendetta for a night to double check with Aya.
Lorick2009-09-17 05:52:07
Wait, yeah, Mima's Spirit is undetectable by any sort of watching ability in it's pm. Hmm.. I don't believe that would help. Actually, out of curiousity, who here has anything in their pm that is related to the game mechanics (Small hitbox) rather than role? For me, it has nothing to do with how my character acts in the game but utterly with the role (My eyes make people see illusions). It's been bugging the back of my mind. Does anyone have any sort of power that is related only to the game?

Reisen's eyes are her primary weapon in the game- she's able to make bullets fade in and out of existence and other random illusionary side effects.
My not being able to vote in certain situations ties in with me being a moron which is more than proven in-game.
Unless you mean something else? It's unclear.
Lorick2009-09-17 05:57:52
Those are what I mean. They are defined by the role of the character, the flavor of it. Reimu's small hit box is an entirely mechanical effect of the game. Your vote restriction is tied into the character, same with my eyes.
Arix2009-09-17 06:00:18
My one and only power is tied to Yukari's power in the storyline, I don't know if her storyline power does anything in the actual game
Lorick2009-09-17 06:03:32
Yeah, see, basically Salvation claimed Survivor like powers. Vendetta didn't get to suger coat that, he had to live with it. He claimed it was because of the small hit box prior to pretty much any knowledge of the powers being released. However, every power I've seen so far has been tied into the roleplay of each character, mostly from the dead but some from the living. They are not based on the game mechanics but rather the flavor of each character.
Lorick2009-09-17 06:04:23
Does anyone have a power strictly based on the game mechanics? Anyone?
Lorick2009-09-17 06:11:11
Like.. For example, Daganev's time control is role based, Othero's immortality is role based, my eyes are role based, Medicine's poison was role based, Arix's powers are role based, Zynni's potions were role, Shiri, Solanis, ect. I have yet to see a power based only on the game. Has anyone else?

Good advice, I tend to post as thoughts come to me.

Monkey Spectator says: Interesting game.
Furien2009-09-17 06:22:51
I would point out that the immortality is, in a way, mechanic. In Imperishable Night, killing Mokou off during a spell card causes her to trigger another 'spellcard' simply titled 'Resurrection' before she resumes the fight.
Overall, though? I'm not sure it's something worth following.

Arix2009-09-17 06:23:10
Most people that do long strings of posts like that are just padding their count for the inevitable point where someone suggests that as a scum detection method
Lorick2009-09-17 06:24:18
Not individually, but Vendetta hasn't exactly been a "Reimu" as per the role either. With the only power being a survivor resistance for example.

I do not think you'll find anyone with a role based power as strictly mechanical as mine. Unless you are willing to accept spellcards as such, and Aya's lack of spellcards+danmaku dodge linking her strictly to the mechanics of Shoot the Bullet and not, say, Mountain of Faith, where she actually does fight, cast spellcards, etc.

While that's one way to look at it, you can also look at it as being a reasonable explanation for why my character has survived existing in every single game so far, going up against anyone and anything from vampires, wind gods, nuclear powered hell ravens, ghosts, etc. She is, by definition, the most visibly enduring character in the series.
