Too bad my last attempt at giving town a chance didn't work (as well it shouldn't), but it was fun! Was more correct than I thought I was, flailing at the end there even though people didn't seem to listen. <.<
Overall, a really good game, I think you cut the roles pretty well to fit the downsizing and it turned out great. I loved how the flavour/modding/setup was pervasive but not intrusive, too. A++ would play again (and not c/p out of misplaced desperation this time).

The second is Flandre Scarlet, younger sister and ward of Remilia Scarlet, Mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Slaying Flandre will allow you to harvest her Spirit.
Stupid role claims got me killed.
I really enjoyed it, when I actually got to participate. Just as constructive criticism, the Flandre role could have been way more interesting if she wasn't locked in the basement...and didn't have 3 different ways to wind up back in the basement. From the looks of it, my role was one hell of an atomic bomb. Two different ways to blow up three people. Too bad there was such a push to role claim, looks like we made a few things easy for the Mafia with that.
I wish Silferras hadn't c/p'd. I do wonder how things would have played out. I went to bed after Endgame stuck between Silf and AS.
Oh and Lorick. Eesh, what the hell did you put in your bong?
Parts sucked (like being Flandre and almost rage quitting from being in the basement for the third time) but I still managed to enjoy the overall game. Great work Tekora.

I told you guys a mass-roleclaim would be a bad idea didn't I?
Also, I almost forgot. Master, Double, Trinity, TWILIGHT SPARK!!!
Accompanied by a suitable Remix of the known fact. Mima's reincarnation!
Brought to you by the Sleeping terror whom shall soon awake again.

Great game everyone! I think both sides put up a good fight. And of course I'm happy about guessing the culprit correctly in the end, even if it was due to flavor. (Which was the best part of the game, yay Touhou flavor~)

Was very fun. This culting mafia was very interesting!

Thanks tekora! It was a really fun game to play and watch and I look forward to your next one!

The only thing I really commited to that I got wrong was Vendetta, and that was in part due to Vendetta's inaccurate claim regarding why he disappeared during Twilight 1 (In role, unable to participate in the first twilight). I wanted to go for Sabre back when he supported Vendetta but the town wasn't really up to anything at that point. Your defense of Vendetta wasn't exactly with any stated reasoning, so I assumed you were either there to cause havoc and get people killed or part of the mafia. I think everyone had strong suspicions on Zetsu but wanted to leave them be due to Xikue's swords. Kira was day 1, and medicine was just a shot in the dark by Shiri. Othero I didn't initially suspect but he kept jumping with me causing me to have some odd feelings about him. I would of just rathered we lynched than have Bali fight.

Not Tekora. You and your "U.N. Owen was her?".
Besides, I was good. I didn't post it until after the endgame was finished. Yuka, Mima and Medicine are my new favourites.

Anyway, I just want to stress again that I loved this game. It kept me on my toes all the time, even as a spectator, so being sacrificed so early was all OK.

oops

Yeah, good game Kira. You still found ways to do damage even when you were doomed.
And looking over my role again, I think I totally missed that as an explanation for why I went missing - just an awkward rewording of the rest of the condition to emphasize that it was the same restrictions as the first day. If that was the reason, then

Thanks, but in this instance I pretty much had to. I took one look at the role and, even though it was awesome beyond belief, knew I'd be doomed if I ever role-claimed due to the flavour in the beginning. The lies I kept spinning were actually how I'd have made the role myself, since I like punishing players for relying on flavour alone, but you guys didn't fall for it. You really did rather well at pegging me actually. Since I had the name of almost all players available to me, I've had pretty much all roles pegged down by night 1, so I figured, if I defended you before it was widely known that you were Reimu, it'd either give the town reason to believe that I was in fact not scum but survivor with alternate win-condition, or I'd drag you down with me. But yeah, you played really well too, and spell-battling me like that was a smart move. I especially love that it ended in a tie.
So thanks.
So thanks.
Shiri2009-09-28 15:33:31
There's really very little room for anything other than flavour-based deductions in a game where they matter at all. The existence of that sort of stuff tends to obviate a lot of normal tells since normally you want to look at the strategies other people are playing - the fact all those strategies are completely different means you don't have a choice about what to rely on.
So it wasn't a problem with this specific game, it's just the way mafia gets run around here...

And that's why I made the Mafia a Culting Mafia, to act as a pitfall if the Town got too reliant on roleclaims. Which it did. Hopefully this game will make a few of you re-evaluate how much value you put on roleclaiming as opposed to analyzation of people's mannerisms and actions.
Kiradawea2009-09-28 15:40:49
You still didn't tell me if you'll have anything against me tying a Yuka for a later game to the happenings of this specific game. *poke*
Tekora2009-09-28 15:43:53
Nah, go ahead.
Kiradawea2009-09-28 15:44:32
Thankies. Look for her and Medicine in the Meta-mafia then.

Huh? It didn't work at all. All the mafia we got but one were BECAUSE we guessed like that. We got punished for it, sure, but it was still our only option. Heck, the fact there was a culting mafia made us even more reliant on it with people's allegiances changing midgame ruining what traditional scumtells were left. I had ATS pegged as the last one too and would have had him lynched if I was alive instead of wasting time on Silferras (something Daganev initiated based on supposed scum tells instead of flavour...just to hammer home the point). Or, even better, tell Arix to use his hax on him so we got another chance if we were wrong...
Lorick2009-09-28 17:33:07
Well, the town pretty much only had one strong investigative role which was Xikue. Pretty much the mafia that mattered became immune or didn't care if I roleblocked them. Sabre was culted. Yeah.. Xikue. So, throw darts at a board and hope one of them sticks.
Shiri2009-09-28 18:32:19
Well, we also had do-anything Arix that probably could have investigated if we figured out the correct keyword. But he wasted his first use harrassing Celina for the hell of it, and then we weren't sure how often we would be allowed to use it afterwards...bailing out Lorick and rezzing me was about it, I guess? We probably should have pushed that one more.
Pity Xiran didn't tell us anything about her investigations, but she was part of the crazy deathbomb chain we had going on this game so maybe she didn't consider herself to be a target and thought she could get away with it for another day.
(Stupid ghostcutting sword cutting people too...knew we shouldn't trust that, bah.)
