The ones who complained are crybabies too. I didn't say they weren't either, everyone who complains about being griefed too much are lol cuz xp loss means NOTHING. Losing defs means nothing. GG. Redef and go on with your internet lives.

lol

love you guys!

Some people will never understand the other side's point of view, whether griefer or griefed, and therein lies the real problem, right? I suppose I need to learn how to suppress the conscience in favor of the ego, and only then can I truly be free. (Sorry. Just watched an interesting, psychological movie. Heh.)
Unknown2009-09-01 01:31:01
Theres no point to the 'being griefed' point of view....dude it's just a game. The only real people you can grief are nihilists and celestines cuz losing pacts really does suck.

I'm going to have to agree with this.

But, I'm not a Glom IRL, so y'know, my POV is skewed, probably.

I'm not saying 'it's just a game, :censor: rp, etc.' i'm just saying people take dying way too personal.

True, but the majority of even those people are just trying to play a game and aren't going to throw a major fit over one or two deaths, it's the hours-long body-grinding that sets them off. They deserve consideration.

Of course, there are a select few that try to shake the foundations of Lusternia with their whining about unfairness or whatever every time they lose one iota of experience, gold, reputation, time, candy, whatever. Those few can rot, I'm never wasting my time on them again. Heh. (Unless I see opportunity for lulz )

I would understand this if this happened on prime, but there is no excuse for that off-prime. Conglutination is a godsent and there is no way you can lose 3+ hours worth of work from congluting over and over.
Zenon2009-09-01 01:59:07
Conglut is way too high in planar, though. The lower-level people who die lots of times in raids (like me) do lose lots of experience, although I can make up three deaths' worth in a little under an hour.

Note: Not everyone has conglutination, given that it is a transcendant skill in a non-guild skillset.

There is a certain amount of "taking advantage" of this fact. Note my earlier statement of a guy who cubixed into Faethorn, killed a newbie ranked 1001 who was not even an enemy of Magnagora, and immediately cubixed out with the corpse. I then spent a while talking to this newbie as a soul and trying to convince him he had no choice but to pray for salvation, and he was asking me why I killed him. (IE, clueless)

Clueless people also tend to regain experience slower, and it's more of an issue when they lose it because they've never had more to begin with (and don't know how much slower it gets)

i like this moiraine, shes in it for the lulz. come2mag.

Then clearly we've found one of the problems then. Remove conglute from planar and just make conglute permanent on all off prime planes and aetherbubbles.

Something similar was suggested earlier, and Estarra was asking for ideas on a skill to be the new Trans Planar skill.

Vathael's even griefing me with his playlist now.

Dude, as the others pointed out, Conglutination is not all that common. I defended for Celest ALL the time when I couldn't fight a lick. Now that I've been gone and can fight even less, and I'm not defending? Now I have Conglutination, as of this week.

This is one of those major points in the argument about combat being too hard to get into. You have to trans a non-combat skillset that is, essentially, a bunch of movement skills with flavor. Or get Demigod. Otherwise, getting into combat you will suffer massive, constant level loss until you become superbad. Not very encouraging.

@Vathael: I would, but being an occasional freakishly insensitive jerk is pretty much old hat in Mag. It's much more horrifying coming from a fruity Tahtetso chick. (hai Asmoth!)

You know I just realized your avatar was HK-24.
Moiraine2009-09-01 02:33:27
47, dude. HK-47. He's so hawt. biggrin.gif
Unknown2009-09-01 02:34:57
47, 24, same difference.

Which thread was that in? I'm lazy and I had an idea about planar beacons so we could have that teleport-to-nexus-from-anywhere thing without giving everyone a super instant escape button.
Furien2009-09-01 02:40:26
Vathael's playlist has profanity in it, omfg.

He needs to be b& even though eh's a cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.
