Hell no, don't get rid of Avenger. If we don't have Avenger, Lusternia will turn into another Imperian/Achaea.

She looked at me funny and insulted me, so I have the right to kill her.

So what you're saying is... "Don't get rid of the Avenger, I don't want Lusternia to actually be worth playing"? Gotcha
Unknown2009-09-06 08:22:00
Avenger is the least of Lusternia's problems, if it is even one at all.

Precisely.

No, despite my over the top hypocrisy and wavering on some things, I like a clearly defined set of rules. Order is a good thing.
Xiel2009-09-06 08:34:09
Should the thought be considered that Lusternia would only be worth playing if there are no rules to prevent rampant douchebaggery, then people need to look harder.
Celina2009-09-06 08:37:09
Achaea is not worth playing, FYI.

I am sorry. The checkboxes tempted me. sad.gif

So far, 5 other people have followed you into temptation!

in Gero's defense, Romeo did suggest I issue the fellow for the rough language and pk.

I know that I speak for the administration at large when I say that receiving 50+ combat issues a day is not an enthralling prospect. For all its warts, the Avenger system largely keeps pk out of our hands - and consequently we're in a better position to get more done.
Xiel2009-09-06 10:35:15

Despite my very limited experience of Lusternian pvp, and similarly limited experience at knowing who the pvpers are and what they are like, I suspect that you, Gero, are probably better off with the avenger system in place of the issue system.

Despite the horror stories mentioned by others in this thread, in 9 years of playing a number of characters in Achaea, Imperian and Aetolia, I've never been randomly summoned (as a level 35 clueless that has never been involved in conflict of any kind at all) and killed by a level 100 guy.

Gero, you were a first for me. From that I suspect you're the type that probably benefits from a coded system rather than an issue system.

I'm mad that I'm now peaced and can't help defend.
Seems pretty silly over one person dying, I got status for throwing a lust tarot.

Your fault.

wat u mean dat if I's done declarin sumbudy den deys dies it R my fault? No wai change dem systems.

Edit: For reference, in years of play I have never once been peaced nor had anyone with the opportunity to peace me. Don't be stupid and it doesn't happen, congratulations. On the other hand, the last time I played Aetolia seriously outside of the war system I had 12 pending issues when I logged off at the end of a hectic pk day. All were ruled in my favor, but I can't even imagine the administrative headache it has to cause to have to deal with crybabies who try to game the system. Defiling your own god's shrine "by accident" to get a shrine aura during a shrine war that doesn't involve you, but hanging out with people who are defiling while you all have the aura and then issuing the second someone touches you screaming foul play comes to mind. You can't see it on logs there, is the trick.

Heh. Personally, I like Avenger since it makes planar conflict more meaningful by driving away those who are hunting for kills on prime and forcing them to enter the planar arena with people who have experience fighting at a higher tier.
Vathael2009-09-10 16:34:24
Last I heard there was too much Planar conflict so that kind of rules out your statement.

Not quite what people have been saying.

If you've been following the forums, you know we have been discussing
tweaks to the planar conflict systems to help balance out the ability to

Sounds like too much planar conflict to me.

It's the type of raids taking place, not the amount of raiding.

I recall relatively few "raiding too often" complaints as opposed to "they won't leave. They only raid when no defenders are around. They are only trying to kill newbies." type complaints.

Hence insanity that does not really limit the frequency of raids, merely the length it will last (no camping etherglom for 2 hours), those weird robot things newbies can use so they don't die over and over, etc.
