Okay, the two things I'm considering:
1) Faethorn insanity only if an enemy to both communes.
2) Guardians immune to crit hits.

I know Ackleberry had a foe (I think Sun and Jojobo), or at least Lake and Sun were not so fond of each other. But another option might just stabilize players rather than this current situation.
My idea would be, instead of having banal reserves of power that people trickle in used to make and power the guardians, give the guardian an Essence Store, of sorts that can do things like room attacks, or web attacks. So maybe a Glom guardian can say.. blackout all its pilots enemies for a moment.. but doing so would use up guardian essence, which can only be restored with some quest like say.. collecting spiders in glom.. or maybe influencing fae in Caomhide.
Essentially give the guardians a 'real kick' attack, that is only enabled when many orgmates work together to complete a series of tasks.

What about the power cost / damage on the guardians? And/or the requirement of raiding in order to end the HG/XI?
(I just attacked Sojiro with a guardian for about 5 minutes, he sipped three or so times. Will do it some more when the raid ends, but it's not going to be much support even in damage when it does 500ish an attack and no afflictions except for a 1p web)

I actually had someone tell me to lower my standards for Security cause we didn't have enough people who could ripple.

Oh, special powers for the guardians? When I saw pilot before, I thought you meant something in aetherspace!
I'm not completely adverse to that idea, but I think it may be premature to start looking at beefing up the guardians so soon after they're released.
Veyrzhul2009-09-06 23:06:47
I think the power cost for guardians should be lowered, then it's not necessary for them to be made stronger. Maybe add a few more offensive options (basic ones, though).

I agree with the "Guardians immune to crit hits.", but you may need to increase their damage by a bit, so they actually do something to a demigod.

I don't think they need a damage buff. They can break shields, shield themselves, and web. Like Estarra said, they are to help you, not to fight for you. In a group a 26k health web whore can be very useful.
If they drop the crits that is more than enough.
Harkux2009-09-06 23:08:28
Can Guardians get a means of healing, perhaps? Using the vials of the person using them, if that's possible?

Well, I'm leery about beefing them up too much but we could consider a little boost to damage.
What do people think is a reasonable power for guardians?

Even with a damage buff (over what they do now) they aren't going to fight for you. I'm not suggesting they have enough damage to kill a Demigod alone, but having enough damage to make the Demigod sip consistently would be useful. That, or lower the power cost considerably. One or the other works for me. I guess the power cost would be the better way to go, though.

No, they have to be retrieved and recover at the nexus before going out again.
Unknown2009-09-06 23:10:51
The problem is that they are not good enough to warrent 400 power.

Drop it to 200 power.

I don't think a whole raid defense should be based off these guardians, really. You did put pvp skills in this game for a reason I'd assume. And if the guardians are beefed up surely they don't need power reduced either.

Well, erm, it's just that they act like normal denizens. They go to sleep and recover!
Unknown2009-09-06 23:13:56
Seriously doubt people would even use it at 200 power.

I think, perhaps, a better system would be to give all protectors Demi-zap from the Nexus at a cost of 10 power per shot.
