The worst thing about bugs is when they not only get rejected as "I don't get it" or left there for months, but when they're left there for months and THEN someone decides they don't understand the problem. This has been applied to a complete combat-breaking bug (that to my knowledge still hasn't been fixed so I won't say which) for so long that I had to issue support asking about it.
The thing is, there isn't exactly a lot they can do to improve that other than just generally...handle bugs better, so suggesting it seems like a waste of time we could instead be using to request actual fixes.
(I voted ascendants because while I completely sympathise with Geb's POV, ascendance is so "meh" and I don't see a lot of streamlining combat going on anyway with the design philosophy mentioned in the other thread.)

(I voted ascendants because I R WUN)
Seriously.

What's wrong with warrior damage.

Well, yes, that's part of why I voted it over, say, more aetherspace or races. It's just not why I voted it over combat streamlining, which I would be more inclined to go for if it didn't feel like a waste of time given that the restrictions imposed on the idea make the stated goal an impossibility.
If we're talking something where most of the system-building complexity is stripped out of sap, choke, wound tracking and so on and speed toned down (particularly for warriors), that also wouldn't make combat crappy and boring, I'll go edit my vote out myself, but it seems pretty futile with what's on the table.
P.S I like how Thoros shows up in the thread just for that.

Well everyone is just out of the blue WARRIORS HURT all over again. wtf

I have no idea if anything changed there or anything so I'm not blaming you, I just find it amusing

Please don't turn this thread into a, 'YOU VOTED X BECAUSE IT AFFECTS YOU DIRECTLY' finger pointing/waggling contest.
Because, really, that's kind of some of the point - what individual players want to see most. If Bobby Sue wants to see the Great House System get a makeover because that's what interests her/him/it. I admire your belief that combat being deeply looked into will bring more players into Lusternia - and I think we've all heard you! And some of us may even agree with you. However, if Bobby Sue thinks revamping the colour of the cups they drink the tea in china in will bring us more players, well, Bobby Sue is allowed to vote that way.
That is, without someone sitting there mocking everyone who votes in a manner different than their own. So let's not, please.

I think it's the attraction one! In the middle of that.

I voted ascendants and ascendancy because I just really want that ascendance report to be done. *wants cults to be actually useful* I spammed Lehki with cult skills the other day because I could and wanted to use them.
Gero2009-09-16 08:54:01
I would like to see you guys hire a couple more people, to help with the work load.

I'd like to see you kidnap Zarquan and force him into wage-slave labour on fixing your bugs.
Treant will naturally need to stay updated.

I voted for fixing the bugs, the only fault I find with Lusternia is that we move on from things in the past too quickly, i.e.. monks, they're still broken but it looks like works are in the making for something else, and about warrior damage, if you spend about $500-1000 on weapons, they had better hit something hard, although ez-win damage buttons aren't fun too.
Macawi2009-09-16 10:45:02
I would really like to see maybe a new race or some slight tweaks on existing races, perhaps even add a few new racial abilities
Unknown2009-09-16 11:06:34
Essence shop, please. Also, demigods using a bit of their essence to 'bless' a 100> person with something nifty.
Malarious2009-09-16 11:10:27
Essence shops are kind of meh, if its any kind of combat bonus it will just encourage more spamming aethercraft pseudo afk. This was assuming demigods were included in the ascendant thing, but we need less ascendants or limits at least.
Great House was a mistake to begin with, its just a pointless power + influence boost.
I voted to streamline combat and review damage. Damage could use toning but removing useless affs wouldnt be bad AT ALL. The combat seesaw is almost equal now I Think, but thats just from recent changes and pending ones (including those in design).
Sadly, I really want race changes, they would be very small really but combat review my gods.
Changes would be like....
- Mugwump less weakness more con or something to make them squish less with major speed drop.
- Change the BARD human spec -dex +cha
- Make Merian squish less
I will ignore some others and say to fix up size please, heres a suggestion.
leave the minor +health for size past normal, can even keep the dex and str changes if really wanted but make it so anyone more than say 3 sizes larger starts suffering slightly longer writhes (.25 seconds?) and we are already reducing the summon resistance thing. Size should play a factor in things but should have a balance of really tiny and really large. I intentionally avoided reducing writhe times as some people already dont need worry about that and thats part of the original problem (tiny insta tumbles and writhes).
P.S. How many warriors think their damage needs be toned down?

It's only come up again now because people started discussing general issues with combat again. I actually state the opposite of this, however: I don't hurt enough for all that I've invested. The damage scaling up (and maybe down, too) is terrible. Speed is by far the most important stat, and it's not even a feasible tradeoff to lower the speed more in favor of damage.

Some of us have day jobs... and hobbies outside of Lusternia. I do probably spend about 20 hours a week on coding something related to Lusternia, though. Heh.

More work on humans. They're boring and we are so not!
We only have evolution and double xp bonus how about something faster acting than evolution, maybe with humans any guild you choose you get stats changed and a specialisation.
Also change the 'ordinary' aspect because it doesn't make sense to be an 'ordinary undead human'. We could even learn things quicker there's just not a lot about humans.

I voted for combat simplification. I think it would best serve the interests of the game by making evening out the playing field and drawing more folks in the intermediate range whereas now I feel like we have very capable combatants and essentially noncombatant.
I would have voted for tradeskills if that was a separate option. I want to repeat the need for balancing as well as potentially a monk specific tradeskill and a general high magic gathering tradeskill.
I am not sure that Ascendants and Demigods need more time. As it stands, there is a huge advantage in terms of combat and the like. I don't think we need to perk out the elites anymore.
