The ONLY people who can get a jerk to stop are the people his or her own guild/org. There is not a single thing the rest of us can do. In fact, we are doing the only thing we have a chance at-- bringing it to attention in an OOC fashion, because IC, there is not a single thing we can do against a cubix demi (wow, this sounds like a pattern) whose guild and org will do nothing to reign them in.
And given the response, I wish we had done it sooner for other griefers.

You'd be surprised what you can do actually.
Such as not selling trade goods to that person, or anybody who associates with said person.
You can play the "how many times can we make soAndso pray"" game.
You can tell thier guildleader that they are hitting on thier spouse.
You can tempt them with fame and fortune, only to stab them in the back after they burn some bridges.
all sorts of fun things you can do.

Someone will always sell. This is a ridiculous statement.

See: Demi+Cubix
You can tell thier guildleader that they are hitting on thier spouse.
Yeah, this totally does a lot. I will assume this was made as a farce.
You can tempt them with fame and fortune, only to stab them in the back after they burn some bridges.
`Because, someone will give up their cushy lifestyle and allies for 'promises'
all sorts of fun things you can do.

How does having a cubix or being a demigod protect a person from a demigod cubix trap?
These forums used to be full of people complaining about people having "pray parties" against them.
All the things I mentioned where things that people have complained about happening to them on these forums.

Demigods can't pray.
Daganev2009-09-23 02:53:48
don't be so literal.
just means repeated deaths ad naseum untill the person becomes unable to play the game that they want to play.

Point is, they don't care... Killing them does nothing, or at most very, very little.
EDIT: Also, we do have tradebans against enemies (like every org I've been in), but those have been proven to be ineffective at stopping people (that I can tell).

Being literal in this case is very much the point. Demigods can't pray, they can also easily escape from 'pray'-fests. Not having to pray means there is no drawback. Every Demigod out there knows once you have your buffer essence then death is only a slight inconvenience.

No, it's not the point...
Because we all know that people just LOVE to play games while having a constant wall of spam to sift through...

Saves you once (and even then, not every time). But if you're griefing, you have the advantage of knowing when you're going to do it, while a large group of people has to sit around hoping to prevent you from doing it all day long.
Guess who gets bored first? Heh.

look, I know you know how to annoy people to the point where they don't want to play the game anymore. You don't need my random examples.

It's a pity I can't use those same super powers against people on the forums.

No one, in or out of game, seems to be quite as sensitive as the moral crusaders make people out to be. It's really disheartening when you actually do want to reduce the playerbase by one.
Estarra2009-09-23 03:20:04
FYI, I have spoken to a couple of people about curbing excessive killing and no one appeared unreasonable.

Let's see if it comes into actually practice.
Celina2009-09-23 03:29:41
You can't really do much to a demigod with as much essence as he has. Ranked 5th. That's a pretty massive pile.
Shiri2009-09-23 04:33:29
Daganev, only one of those things has a shot at working and it's unreliable at best. There really is not a lot you can do to some people.
