I say make it so you can instantly transverse to any plane that the nexus connects to, and then let communes use that to transverse to astral. <,<

BubbleBond- 10p to bond, 10p/20s eq, lets you teleport from your org's nexus to your bonded aetherbubble and back.
Doman2009-09-21 02:39:05
could always just give prime conglut everywhere except enemy territory and/or from people on your avenger list

The BubbleBond of Romertein's and the Micronexus are my choices.

Bubblebond was thrown around elsewhere on the forums when this was discussed before, I was merely re-putting it up here (not actually my idea).
Micronexus would also be cool, would allow people like me to siphon extra dross into a nexus and draw more. Good way to get a little extra power at a cost.
Could also be possible to cone into it, for another bonus?
EDIT: CONE! or a variant, as the trans skill.

With the Constructs gone, that is actually a very very good idea!
Kiradawea2009-09-21 10:52:30
So what about them guardians?
The main problem is that this needs to be equally useful to demigods and mortals, cities and forests and all classes alike. Therefore I push forward the mininexus and bubblebond. Both very awesome ideas that benefit everyone equally.

Not sure how bubble-bond would be taken by the admins, seeing as it'd be like a 300db artifact for the cost of a few hundred credits to trans planar plus a little power, prefer micronexus.

Bubblebond would work like tierstone planegaze, so you can only have one bubble bonded and you can never change that, even if you forget/re-learn BubbleBond.

So it's exactly like a bubblix? This would lose IRE money, in the long run, so it probebly wont be done.
Estarra2009-09-21 17:05:10
Not that we're looking to change the trans planar skill, but I am rather neutral on the bubblix (teleporting to a aetherbubble) and micronexus (personal power store) ideas. Daganev is right that the trans skill must be useful to cities, communes and all classes.
Feel free to keep posting ideas though! If an idea really wows me, you know I'd give it serious consideration!

But but... I was the one who specified that Trans Planar needed a truly universal appeal. *sadface*

How about astro glide, costs 5p for normal users.
Astrologists that have it have 0p.
Astrologists that have it have 0p.

Micronexus didn't wow you?
Kiradawea2009-09-21 19:48:43
Yay!
Now that I've gotten my luffly credit...
How about "Planarstatus", the ability to check up on how the plane you're currently on is doing. It can tell you the status of all the supermobs, if the lords/aspects have been empowered. If any mobs are around that could be influenced or hunted for essence or so on. A neat perk that allows you to quickly get information about the plane that you're on. I think that'd be nice.

Might be a little OP unless it was for only your organization, i.e. cannot Planarstatus on someone else's turf.
Where does that leave rouges too?

Well, it certainly was creative! I'm just not convinced that we really need personal nexuses, nor if that's really what planar is all about.
What about a "poor man's cubix" which for 10power gives the ability to enter some sort of planar maze which exits out to a random room on one of the known planes (prime/ethereal/elemental/cosmic/astral)? Offers the getaway factor of a cubix and ability to travel through the known planes (but not in a very predictable manner).

So trans planar is now worthless, so this thread is to help come up with ideas with what should replace it.
Just in defense of the new trans planar. I do not believe it is "worthless". One of the abilities that was suggested was that the trans planar should only reduce the time to weave/unravel gates. That is what the new trans planar does as well as offer an ability to make protected personal gates (admittedly, at a steep cost). Whether you dislike the skill or not, I hardly think it fair to say it is "worthless".
