Xavius also had to walk to the tutor up hill, both ways, in the snow.
Snow? Psh. Winter was a horrible skill back then, and no snow falls in Celest. I had to walk to the tutor through Revan's 400-room demesne, which had both ends in Magnagora, and let me tell you, rubble is worse than your wimpy hills, and lodestone is worse than your wimpy snow.

The Star of Celest shines brilliantly and, in a flash of light, a spirit of radiant starlight descends upon the centre of the city.
Flows of enveloping, liquid darkness swirl downwards from above, riddled with glimmering stars and constellations. Upon the tide of starry night, the voluta diadema beacon descends.
Altaira, the Star Deva says, "The Demon Lords of Nil must be slain for their heresy."

The Magnagoran one is, and always has been, ridiculously repetitive and droll. That's fine actually, as duty and the utmost levels of dedication has to be earned. That said it would be nice if we had more options...
IDEA ALERT
I strongly urge that the quest be tracked via character and not in general, like many of Lusternian quests. Doing the vast majority of the work and having some newbie get the honors knowingly or unknowingly is truly an atrocity (not to mention you could just gank the quest ending a couple times and have the uber honors for almost ZERO EFFORT). I think this would solve a lot of problems. In Magnagora's case, if the Necro was not already alive and controlled, then it could just click back to how it is now to keep it balanced.

Unfortunately Ixion, there's just no feasible way to do that. It would require a near complete rewrite of the quest, from top to bottom. That would take (literally) months.
Xenthos2009-09-29 11:53:06
Thanks for the epic quest, guys. It was fun. Now, to keep on getting it done...

nevermind

I feel so guilty now. I came back from school really late and I thought I would just do one beacon so I could get a head start for tomorrow, but it was the ninth beacon. So, I stole someone elses hard work. I feel really bad now

Wait a minute...
Dynami, PM me that prophecy. We have a mystery to solve (IG)
I also suggest you stop posting these.
Bah Xenthos! Curse you for posting before my edit went through.

Uhh. Don't use this, please. It was already pretty obvious this was an IC prophecy.
(As such, you're going to want to cut that out of this post, since it's not a generic one)

*pat pat* It happens. Such is the nature of the beast.
Though now you've got me curious. Is your prophecy different from the one I posted on Celest newsboard?

The honour lines for mag are below, Jozen just finished his 5th time moments after getting avengered, hope our epic quest doesn't involve any bashing.
He is a member of the Legion of Luciphage.
He is a member of the Knives of Nifilhema.
He is a member of the Armies of Ashtorath.
He is a member of the Bastion of Baalphegar.
He is a member of the Keepers of Gorgulu.

Somehow I find it telling of the character of Magnagora that they're perfectly willing to do a quest for someone, despite the fact that their impediment is due to killing people that have 0% of a chance to win.

Use the word "they" carefully. I'm no less likely to stab him in the back IC as I am to call him out as a filthy griefer OOC.

Wheeee, been waiting till we finished with Zenobia to post this.
I'm wondering if the illithoid and kephera stuff is gonna get some changes to become epic quests, and if so... could the ones to 'land the killing blow on a super mob' be changed to a corpse turn in or something? ):

Jozen offered dingbats for people to give him the finished item so he could finish the quest early. We didn't do it according to Glomdoring and make a queue though we thought about it, we also didn't do it like Celest, I think who is just letting anyone go. The people who were seen as needing it the most were myself (because I have no transport artifacts and defend alot) , Jozen (simply because he is an artie whore and needs anything that is shiny) Ixion (because he is a title whore). Ethelon, Vathael, Thoros, all have cubixes and don't really play much. Ixion was content to do other quests and I wasn't going to try and compete with Jozen when he wanted it so much. Mag didn't really decide to let Jozen do the quest, it just so happened he finished first cause I didn't bother to snatch jars from him even though he offered them to me.

Friendly territory cubix. Assuming Mag goes to Earth, Nil, Megalith, Nosfydra, maybe spectre isle.
Celest probably goes to isle of light, water, ect..
Zalandrus2009-10-03 14:59:27
o.o
That's a fairly awesome artifact. This helps to justify a lot of the tediousness in these quests (but as I understand it, the final epic quest is different (and more fun?) than the one you have to repeat 5 times). Would be nice to get confirmation of artifact exits from Jozen (and whoever'll be the first Celestian...right now looks like Dynami's ahead)
