That's not a bad question, but that doesn't really give us any more information about you than we had before you summoned the King.
Unknown2009-09-29 01:07:07
Not only that, but Lorick point-blank refused to ask a question that could clear him. He didn't even try to see if the investigation would be legitimate. He just asked something completely irrelevant. That's about as suspicious as you can get.
Lorick2009-09-29 01:09:57
I told you, he wouldn't know and be capable of answering that question. It was just to show I am who I powerclaimed and that I have a relationship with the King. Anthony wasn't alive at the time of this quest. He wouldn't know whom is scum and who isn't. Hell, he wouldn't even know most of the group. I orginally thought of asking him how many spies we had among us, but I got a pm back stating he would only know what he knew when he was alive. He wouldn't know anyone's alignment for certain, nor would he be capable of showing whom was or wasn't in the fellowship. Which was why I didn't mind using him to show what I can do. It was basically almost useless.

My apoligies great King.
I can' help myself. Why did you hide your horde away from the world? You kept it from family, people, and country. It turned the hearts of men and beast black with greed and it is ripping your kingdom apart to this day. I must know, why not use it for the benefit of the kingdom?

Hmm...so many questions, fleshy one. Two many questions, you might say. I shall answer your first.
Why did I hide my horde away from the world, you ask? Hmmm yess...yess.. I remember.
My wife. She was a terrible spender. She always demanded the finest hosieries and linens. I just couldn't say no to her! The kingdom would have gone bankrupt if I did not take action.
I leave for today, mortals...
Unknown2009-09-29 01:11:54
That doesn't mean that he couldn't tell us that he knew you in life like you said. And that you aren't someone with the ability to summon just claiming to have known the old king.
Lorick2009-09-29 01:13:18
....I'm really disappointed now. All the big fuss over his wife.. Enough to fund a few kingdoms...
Unknown2009-09-29 01:14:49
Hmm. *chewlip*
Unvote: Lorick for now. I'm not electing you leader, though. Your explanation makes sense, but I'd still rather have had you ask the king to vouch for your character pre-corruption or SOMETHING to help me out with why I should trust you. The only thing we know right now is that you summoned a ghost. We don't even know that you actually know the guy. He could be an optical illusion to whom you feed a script. (I realize how unlikely this is, but it's still a possibility and I always suspect the corner cases). Lorick took an opportunity to help clear himself, and asked about the gold instead. I still find that incredibly scummy. Even if the king just said "I don't know" the good will in the asking would have helped me.
For the time being, I'll leave myself nominated, but I'm not seriously pushing to be elected leader. If someone else has a compelling reason to elect them, we can go for it.

And then we would have had this problem "The king knew you, but that was a long time ago and thus meaningless. And to be honest, we don't really know this king and what sort of people he knew." Again, it wouldn't of proved anything for or against. We have better investigators for that sort of thing.
Unknown2009-09-29 01:16:27
It would have helped me. I even said that after you explained the concern. Your complete unwillingness to even chance the king contradicting you seems uber-scummy.
Arix2009-09-29 01:17:57
So nobody else is concerned about Lorick's use of black magic to summon the dead?
Unknown2009-09-29 01:20:10
Actually, I propose a new strategy. We've been trying to elect a leader first, and then choose a lynch. I suggest that we switch this around.
Lynch someone to get information. We see who they were (presumably) and we can check voting patterns and do general scumhunting. We can afford to lynch town (and if not, Bali failed at making the setup and I trust Bali not to fail like that) today at any rate and I think the increased information could help us choose a better leader.
@Lorick: How was asking about his gold any better? If you asked him to vouch for your character, we at least had the token of good will. If the king said he doesn't know you any longer, oh well. We're no worse off than after you asked him about his wife. But if the king said that he NEVER knew you. Or that you were a bad dude when he knew you, then we had something to go off of. You refused to take that chance. That screams someone with something to hide.

The question you asked me to tell was something that wasn't appliciable. I wouldn't of minded asking if he knew me, but I didn't want to be a first day lynch because a power I don't fully control would of given an answer you wouldn't of found acceptable. The summons can only do what is within their realm of power. Anthony was pretty much fluff, so I didn't mind using him.
Unknown2009-09-29 01:24:25
The summons as in more than one? What else can you summon?
Lorick2009-09-29 01:25:55
I'm basically the town's jack of all trades. Each summon controls a vague realm of influence.
Arix2009-09-29 01:27:20
You know, we had to fight against warlocks last time, it wouldn't surprise me if Slogoth (?) hired one to help this time. And summoning the dead seems a very warlock-y thing to do

Req, you didn't even put forth the idea to ask him about my past until after I had wrote and submitted the question I was orginally going with. I wouldn't of minded doing that one since I knew it could actually be answered, but the first question was impossible and I wanted to at least show some feedback so it didn't look like an simple illusion.
Unknown2009-09-29 01:30:19
I actually think he might have beat you to asking you to ask that before I say your name at the bottom as far as writing a post goes.
Unknown2009-09-29 01:30:54
Man say=saw I can't type obviously also @arix: yeah the warlock thing reminds me of Xenthos' role in the last game.

Actually, can we ask the king about your allegiance, Lorick? I'd like to know if the ghost man could tell us who you're working for.
QUOTE (Lorick @ Sep 28 2009, 08:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Basically, even if I did so, everyone would claim it was prior to the current events.
QUOTE (requiem dot exe @ Sep 28 2009, 09:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Then any other investigation would be similarly pointless. You could at least ask the king what kind of information he could give you. Tell him not to answer if it'll use your one question, though. But I would like for you to actually clear yourself. Otherwise I'm not switching to you.

You didn't give me a chance to tell you to ask about your past. You jumped right ahead and asked about the gold before I could come up with a better phrasing. Any way you go about it, you completely avoided asking something that might have endangered your claim.
