Oh balls, I forgot the no edit rule while I was ranting at Lorick. Sorry. Don't modkill me. It wasn't anything game related, I promose!
Oh, for clarification I resist ALL kills against me, including nightkills, daykills, and whatever else is out there. The only exception seems to be a lynch.

I assume the tank last game was town, cannot recall. However, nightkill resist as claim/power seems to be more commonly scum than town. Do not have enough of a read or information on Celina yet to want to nominate. Iffy on the other candidates. Will see how it proceeds.

And thank you for ruining my plan, was hoping most people would forget the claim thing.

Ok firstly,
I don't trust Arix. I don't like that he was willing to nominate somebody else who might be scum. It leads me to believe that Arix knows something about Shiri.
Necromancy not being a leader is a good point.
If there is a way to prove that celina is not lying, then after that proof, we should probabbly go with Celina.

Bali, I couldn't see this in the setup posts: do we lynch before electing a leader, or the other way around, or can we choose?
It's elect first. Election is this today's challenge, so we have to complete it before lynching.
Also, I just got a reply from Bali, and you can change your nomination just like a lynch vote. Just RETRACT NOMINATION or UN-NOMINATE or RETRACT NOMINATION

I was actually hoping to wait for someone else to claim a resistance, then we would inquisition them both to pick one as the leader and probably kill the other. The idea was nk immunity is a very common scum claim, it hadn't been mentioned yet (at least not that I remember) and I was hoping someone would forget. Alas.
Celina2009-09-29 05:55:04
Well I didn't plan on claiming, and didn't really understand how "tank" translated into a mafia game.
Then Furien said the leader should be a "tank" and resist nightkills, and I got the nightkill/daykill immunity so I figured I'd go with it even if it does make me sound suspicious.

When I first opened the thread, I instantly thought, SHIRI FOR LEADER! But he doesn't seem to want it/ignored it, so not sure. I'm fine with Celina being leader, if everyone believes her.
Also, I agree with Celina, NO WE DO NOT WANT LORICK AS LEADER. He's waaaay too crazy.

Well, are we going to want a leader for challenges again? Or just the gold and unlynchable? If the former, there are probably better choices than me judging by my role. If the latter, anyone wanting it would have to claim so we can assess them for trustworthiness, and I have no intention of giving the scum any info about my role right now.
I don't get the necromancy complaint of Daganev's. Is this just a flavour thing or do we have reason to believe anyone summoning the ghost of a wise old king is bad? I realise Lorick is a loose cannon that makes the department look bad, but some of the reasons cited for not electing him are kinda weird.

Someone oil Shiribot.
Also, we've so far had 14/16 members participate in some way shape or form. Good deal!

The necromancy thing is sort of a flavor thing. In the first game the mafia was a group of mages. However, the mafia in this game isn't supposed to really be connected to the first game's mafia.
Daganev2009-09-29 06:33:05
Shiri, read the thread more carefully. The Necromancy complaint was pretty clear. It's too early for people to not know what people are saying or why they are saying it, when it has been explained. It's also not my thing, I just agree with it.
Daganev2009-09-29 06:34:10
Sorry forgot to mention... I'm not supporting Celina right now. I want proof first.

Celina is absolutely not going to be elected leader. Assuming this is anything like last time, the leader doesn't do anything except get +500 gold and lynch immunity. Given that Bali even took out the challenge abilities, I think it's a fair assumption that he didn't make the challenges more complicated than they used to be. So we don't want to elect a leader based on keeping them alive. We want someone we can assassinate later if necessary.
I know this is a DnD themed setup, but it's not a role playing game. We're not electing the person with the best oratory skills, or the person who survives the night longest. We elect the person who can prove himself closest to being clear. Lorick was our closest to being able to do that, but his refusal to ask a useful question of the dead king makes me entirely too uncomfortable to elect him leader.
Also, as a side note, I'm surprised we're doing a leader challenge again. It just encourages mass claiming on D1, and Bali expressed his dismay at the end of last game with how many people claimed so quickly. I want to hear from the last 2 people and see if they have any way to clear themselves.
Remember that, people. If you can demonstrate a pro-town ability, you're a good leader candidate. Being tanky doesn't count. Being a "good leader" flavor-wise doesn't matter. You just have to be town-ish.
P.S. Someone said that doc should be on the leader because they were elected by the majority. That's a terrible, terrible thing to assume. The leader is NOT clear just because most people picked him. Never assume the majority is right.
Daganev2009-09-29 06:40:08
Sorry, but I don't see scum being immune to daykill abilities.
Shiri2009-09-29 06:46:36
How exactly are you going to prove Celina's claim without someone coming out with a daykill and wasting it on her? That doesn't sound productive, especially in the scenario that you're wrong and that is a scum power. I'll go reread for that necromancy complaint, I guess, but I don't really buy it to start with.
