Hold on, I want to make sure I understand this. So, we are allowed to write a little script of collect all of the squid?
Sure. If you want to get shrubbed.
Edit: Hence the limbs pun from Eventru.

You need to work on your delivery system, Eventru.

I don't know what cities you are talking about Xenthos but it isn't mag. We have been working for nearly a week now and the most we have is one person who's turned it in 4 times.
Put all the time limits you want but you can't possibly slow this meteoric rise to no where fast.

So, Llandros, you didn't read the part where they just made Mag's about 2x faster?
Further, you didn't read that, at this point, there have only been three New Moons, whereas (by the timing given) there would have been 8 Magnagoran honours lines? There have been a large number of Celestian ones so far, and if you have one Magnagoran working on it only, it's not even like you are constantly working it (given sleep times and having to QQ).
So... yeah, even with it taking longer than it "should have," you're still outpacing the maximum amount of times the Communes could possibly do it. Plus it was sped up. Plus there is absolutely no time limit.
Are you sure you don't know what cities I'm talking about?

Xenthos i think you severely underestimate our abilty to to make a huge mess of even the most simple tasks. Some newb already ganked at least one jar and trying to organize the citizens to work for something that doesn't directly benefit them is just not going to happen.
If they sped it up any i haven't noticed

Heh. "Messing it up" is part of all of these quests. A very simple thing at the end of Glom's could screw up hours of work and blow the 32-hour window. It has many times in the past. (No, I'm not going to publicly post it, but any novice could do it). That's part of their being "epic". You are supposed to work together for it!
I'm not talking about the timing if things go badly, I'm talking about timing assuming everything goes right.
Also: Putting a once-a-month limit on it wouldn't even screw up the city part, because if someone mucks it up and breaks the quest, you have the ability to start over. Whereas with Glomdoring, if we muck it up, we're screwed out of a once-every-32-hour window. (Apparently Serenwilde's doesn't have to be completed on the Full Moon? Ours, on the other hand, is required to happen on the New Moon)

Huh? That really doesn't change his argument. Just because we can FUBAR the quest doesn't mean we don't have the possibility to do it a lot faster then the communes. Though I think his solution is the wrong one. The commune quest should be changed so it can be done faster. Just comes down to if the Admin will do it.

Either letting Communes speed it up or slowing the cities down is kind of needed to balance it out, IMO. Given their postings, it seems like they'd rather see it be slower, so...
(I've posted a solution for speeding up, and one for slowing down. They're welcome to pick either! Or come up with their own.)

Shortening the time in between prophecies would be grand.
So would lengthening the times in between cities being able to do so would be fair as well, but I'd prefer everyone have a bit of an easier time.

FYI, I see no real reason to change any of the commune/city quests at this time beyond what we've already done. Yes, some may be easier to do while others may have timing requirements but ... so what? Not everything has to be equal and this is one of the cases where I think the RP of the quests trumps making the commune/city quests "evens stevens". Getting epic honours is grand but once this first flurry of super-competitive, alpha questors (or whatever you want to -politely- call them) finish the "race" to get epic quests (which granted may take a few months to even out), I think you'll find there really isn't that much need to 'race' and people will settle into doing them more leisurely and less competitively.

Some would find the term 'event whores' to be apt.

It's 45000 power for completing it... plus a neat artifact, and an events post. My suggestions aren't even "making them even stevens" since only once every IC month would be once per 25 hours (instead of once per 32), and completable at any point within that 25 hour time period instead of a small window. It would still be far quicker to do the city ones, but at least it wouldn't be as easy to just grind them out as it is now, versus mechanically limited on the other side.
