I suppose you're right then. It is a bad assumption. I doubt it's the amount you get from 1 to 100, though.

Now, why would you doubt that? Given timing (I even gave you my timing, it was 3 months nearly to the day), it's either about the same, or over it.

Again, you may be right, but without hard numbers, it's still just speculation.

(We were 'competing' to see what it was. Apparently no honours for being lifeless hunters, though. )

It's more likely than you might think. Consider:

1. Most accept that the experience required from titan to demigod is about double that of 98 to titan. This is pretty visible in actual gains as you move along.

2. level 90-92 is generally considered half way to demigod in the overall experience scheme from 1-demigod.

Now, based on differences I've seen in exp gain at titan followed by essence gain at demi immediately thereafter, I think it is safe to assume that 0.01% at titan is approximately 1200-1400 essence. The gain you get from killing a Manifestation of the Dreaming might be the best illustrator of this. Try it out yourself if you like.

This was as a faeling, with no harmony blessing (I was in no rush to get demi), no minor domoth harmony, no human exp gain. Nothing inflated the gain at the time.

100/0.01 x 1200-1400 = 12-14 million for titan to demi

Divide in half for 98-titan, and you get another 6-7 million.

From there, the increments between levels from 90 to 98 is far less noticeable. For argument's sake, let's say the overall difference between those is 250K essence per level. We'll take the lower range of that value (1200), but then we'll be generous and say that 90-demigod is halfway, not 92-demigod.

12 + 6 + 5.75 + 5.5 + 5.25 + 5 + 4.75 + 4.5 + 4.25 + 4 + 3.75 = 60.75 million,
57.5 x 2 = 121.5 million from level 1 to demigod

At the least, I think it's fair to say that "200 million essence is a drop in the bucket compared to bashing to demi from level 1" is dead wrong by comparison. Certainly, there is a time difference since demigods have their magnificent crit rate right away, along with a slew of useful skills while a level 1 is... level 1. But that's another matter entirely.

From what I've gathered after my earlier postings, I'm not only inclined to agree with Xenthos, but I think he's way underestimating the value of his essence in terms of experience points.
